What RPi? Does it have heatsing? Does any fan blow on the heatsink? If yes, it is possible there is not good contact between heatsing and CPU.
I am using a RPi 4B. No heat sink and no fan. I was told it wouldn’t need one with as little as the processor is used. I typically only see about 3% cpu usage on the RPi.
There may still be other operations outside raw CPU usage which use computation power.
Who told you you do not need it? 😮
I highly recommend getting heatsink and blow some air onto it.
oh. Pi4 tends to run hot. definitely get a heatsink and a fan on that thing
A bunch of people way back when I built it two years ago. A hand full of people in the V2 questions channel.
is there a specific one you recommend? should i get one with a fan attached?
would i be better off getting a RPI5?
for a Pi4.... lemme find one...
You can, or at least bunch of those little heatsinks with adhesive thermal compound and let fan blow over it a bit.
If it's electronics bay, there should be at least a pair of fans
yeah that one can be good
only problem with MOST of these is, if you use the GPIO for power... you will have to somehow finagle this into it...
this one too... they have an RGB version of this one I think. .. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B9KM9WYL/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B0B9KM9WYL&pd_rd_w=9fn9G&content-id=amzn1.sym.f734d1a2-0bf9-4a26-ad34-2e1b969a5a75&pf_rd_p=f734d1a2-0bf9-4a26-ad34-2e1b969a5a75&pf_rd_r=0R276TEWQ899GVE7VTGF&pd_rd_wg=Ypl8q&pd_rd_r=4d79a835-612e-45b5-b394-ab6458013c16&s=industrial&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWw
yeah, i have never put the skirts on, so no fans. i just find it odd that this is a new issue
not sure where you are - you have no role #rules but amazon has a number of them.
Sorry, I didn't know about that. Are there any other rolls I should claim?
nah. just a country... it's all good. helps us help you...
Just received the heat sink and will install it tomorrow. Ill update the thread if it still gives me trouble
