Probably not the best use of heatsink weight, but it's fast, decently armored for a hover, and surgically accurate up close while providing a C3 link for friendly units, and carries it's own ECCM via Guardian (when needed)

The reintroduction date of Laser Insulators is currently a bit unclear: the Blakists were fielding them near the end of the Jihad, so maybe they're an option for the Republic in the 3090s?

I view this as basically a bug hunter variant, enough accuracy and just enough damage to be really scary to light mechs and some mediums

That's a MegaMek issue rather than a CGL issue

The problem with vehicular machine guns is twofold: flamers are extremely effective against CI and double as firestarters, and conventional infantry is already crushed by battle armor (which happens to use MGs closer to real-world exemplars rather than the light autocannons favored by 'Mechs and CVs)

More often than that, admittedly, since the construction rules do screw you out of significant mass with half-ton rounding at many tonnages

Changing the subject a bit, I find it amusing that I made my Manticore design basically identical to the Zibler C without realizing

the zibler has been on my mind as I recently read the recent Wolf's Dragoons novel, and in one battle they use ziblers mounting dual clan plasma cannons to run in and force overheat enemy mechs to try to disable them without killing the pilots
