don't mind the see-through thumb and the lineart, i just need help with the shading. something looks off, like it looks too saturated? but at the same time i think about all the art tutorials i've watched and how everyone keeps saying that the shadows have to be saturated. or maybe it's the face planes? maybe i didn't apply the shadows properly? the nose looks so pinched too. i used a reference but it was of middle aged man so maybe that might be an issue.

Maybe this happens because of face color map! Some areas are more saturated than others due to blood circulation around nose, cheeks, etc.. most of renaissance artists used face color maps to actually get more evenly skin colors, like a overlay to start painting everything
But hey, i love how the shading looks right now! good shaping
ty!!! this is low-key insane considering i saved these same images from Pinterest before drawing this :c but thank you so much for the feedback!! i didn't think of this!!
oww don't worry, it happens (i'm known from saving references and never using them lol), hope it helps !!!
try experimenting with having more varied saturation
