Hi! So im a traditional watercolor artist and ive sold lots of my art before but ive never done a commission. A week ago I decided I would accept a commission by a good streamer friend of mine. All he asked for was a green field and monarch butterflys and this is what I came out of that.

Im not sure if I like how it looks but then again I know an artist is their worst critique so I wanted another opinion.

A detail that isnt showed in the first image is that the orange of the butterfly wings are metallic so they shimmer a bit. (Shown in the 2nd image)

Now for my question: if you were to buy this peice what would you consider paying? For ref I told him $30 but depednibg on youre opinions i may lower but u wont raise it any higher (Any criticism welcome)

Yes the answer is I would pay for it as it's an art and you took your time to think about the composition and gathering reference and executing it

I really can't tell how much I would pay for it low or high as I'm a 3d artist and never done commissions for 2d but yes every art has it's own worth and I think someone else in the server can help you with that what price range you should set for it

And about does it looks good then the answer is yes it does as you said we artists never like our work even when most out there like it as there's always something you can improve in every art but time is always constraint so keep drawing and keep improving with your every art if you like you can share it in server for feedbacks and what you can improve and even I don't like my work but some do and also some don't so it's normal as a artist to have thinking it's not good enough and something can improved as it's true there's always something to improve but you have to do what you can do and capable of with your skills and improve with time

I think as an artist myself you shouldn't start commissions yet, you really need to be amazing at art to open them.. it might sound rude but it's really the truth it'll usually just waste your time. If you wanna start off with stuff like selling art do art trades. Also, for payment I wouldn't pay much for those
