Hey there. i think I see what you were trying to do here, one of those dramatic lighting setups where the edge of the character is lit up.
What I think would work way better, is to do this on a dark subject, on a dark background, since that would follow how real life lighting works a bit more. In this case the right side of the face looks like it's in light already, like outside for example, in an environment like that, the edge light on the left would be way too weak to cast any meaningful or dramatic light.
Here's a reference I found that you could take a look at to see what I mean.
I would say overall the concept is really good but there are things which I would like to point out first is the lighting the over exaggerating lighting is good but the shadows are inconsistent and the line work of eyes the part that's under the hair make it less black to identify that it's back from the hair other than than I really liked the overall art
Thank you guys I appreciate it!
Is there anything with the proportions that could use work?
One of my friends said the head is a little too big and maybe the mouth is in a weird place
But im curious on others input
That depends on what you wanted to create what was your reference
Like gru from despicable me there isn't any matching of any proportion but the design is exaggerated for the art style you can search the character if you don't know about this character
So if you have any references or anything you planned to make it like if you would tell me that I can help and identify if there's anything changes needed but as in artistic perspective it's good enough as stylized art
I didn't rly have any references
So if you like it as an artistic choice it's good
Hm alrighty
I am going for kinda accurate proportions
Sorta "realistic" proportions if you will
If that's the case the best thing I would suggest to take a reference if you can't get online just click a photo of yourself in the same pose keep it at side and it'll help
Alrighty thank you!
