I can try to help, I don't use digital, but I do traditional portraits. I know it's scary but to make the face pop and separate it from the neck, you need dark shading for under the face on the neck. Look at your reference (if you have one) and use, not necessarily black, but a darker brown or gray if it fits. Or even the color you see being used for shading, this could be said for the rest of the face well. But you're doing great with the rendering :)
