Hey I'm Jashu, i was just trying to make something related to an hourglass with the sand inside being replaced by an ash of a grieving siul, i think i did an ok job on the idea, but i hate it cuz i dont know how to select colors correctly to elevate the mood of this artwork, i think it would look much better with that, can anyone help pleas?

oh hii, thanks for the reply, i wanted to make it feel slightly ominous in a way, but wiht barely any saturated colors for the art except for the hourglass, the atmosphere i was going for supposed to be sort of mysterious.
I see, ominous, mysterious, low contrast everything, high contrast hourglass.
It seems like you already know what you want, do you have any references? Lighting is half the job of setting the mood with color
References are really everything lol
try adjusting the colours with filter layers after u place down ur basic colours, (or do a grayscale map). not sure what program you use, but search up YouTube tutorials if you need
