There's too much going on in terms of color, and unfortunately my eyes get lost and lands on the chest. You do not have a wide range of value in your art, not only that the focal point which I assume is the face, gets over shadowed by the more interesting of colors, I recommend trying to make something pop within the face, maybe the eyes for example. Or remove some stuff from the face
Actually, its the belt where my eyes land on
I assume its been a while since you last look at your art, so I want you to check again, glance at it and see where your eyes land
Remember, its always important that you draw more attention to where you want viewers to rest their eyes.
I know you arent aiming for the masters, but take inspiration from them. Even in great pieces they dont add too much detail leaving it up to the imagination, and instead adds the most interest to.where they want viewers to focus
You got this, keep it up
OML SORRY I JUST SAW THIS! I stopped checking cause I didn’t think anyone was gonna reply so thanks!
I am having trouble specifically with the details cause I was going for a decora kei style but kept trying to make it more without making it actually be more? If that makes sense?
I think I’m gonna restart her design and try to work my focal points. I didn’t really know where I wanted it to be when I first went in and I think it really shows lol
