genuinely just want some tips from more experienced artists on how to practice anatomy and generally just how they started their more "conscious" drawing journey. i don't know where to start.

If you're talking about general anatomy, like posing, proportion, perspective of the body etc, reduce things to simple 3D shapes, this helps you visualize better what you want to draw before adding detail, which can make it harder for you to notice any issue in the making, until you gotta basically redo an entire body part, but this also helps with complex poses since it will serve as your reference and guideline.

Now if you're talking about more complex anatomy, like muscles and stuff, this strategy still works, however you will need to use picture references for your works, especially if you go for a more realistic style, muscles are more complex to understand than just regular arms and legs, so use those to your advantage.
