I tried thinking alot on how to do this but yeah it's kinda tough
Here's a goofy sketch I did of her for some ideas, I think the eyes having the more generic demon look makes her look more intimidating than the way their currently look, I also think you can also do the classic shadow over the eye + a glow for the extra edgy look.

if I were to do an actual fan art of her, my style would make her cute too I really do love her squishy look tho.

I don't think I can help much with my style, unless I try to monsterficate or try make her hyper realistic

Shaper edges, but if you going for scary, then I would make the skin a darker shade of red, heavier clothing, make them look unkept, like longer nails and gown out hair, then also texture, especially for your "squishy" problem, make them have a almost slimy or scaly texture
