are the color values off???

ive been trying a lot of new things recently, copying artists styles being one of them.
this time it was Mika Pikazo (please look her up if you dk her she has SUCH good art)
and she uses a LOT of colors, it works because she keeps her values grouped well. however i dont know how to do that yet, i think i have but im not sure
any advice?

my advice is paint in grayscale most artists do this then color the color’s in with the actual one wuth the same toneish value they want on a clipping layer so it appears better!
