So, my boyfriend likes to write plays, and I wanted to turn one of them into a comic for a surprise, but we have a tiny problem.. I only know realism. I'm practicing making the characters, and I feel like I'm improving, but I'm afraid of how to make them in other angles. Do you have any tips? Or some site/video that may help me? This is the only character until now that I've done (Only have sketches of the others), If u see something I might improve, tell me please. Or any tips on making cartoon.

Hii, I could try and help if you would like
For shading maybe you could add a few darker colors using multiply layer, and maybe the head could be a bit rounder and the hair maybe a little less curly or add more strands of hair
What does the multiply layer do? I only use tradicional methods usually and all those kind of layers are confusing to me ahahha
This is a good attempt! Honestly, the thing that helped me the most was references. Studying someone else’s art style and how they do things is honestly the reason why I’m at this level. I also really like to watch those “improving my viewers art” videos where they actually explain why they did something, those really helped me. Also, I recommend not using things like airbrush and smudge for shading. While a little is good, using harder shadows and just using a brush will make things look a lot cleaner.
I also noticed how a lot of the colors are bleeding onto the other parts of her, like the brown used for the hair is on the flower and some of the skin color is on her hair. Do you use more than one layer? If you don’t, it’s very recommended for digital art.
I really like your style! I think the comic will turn out great regardless of what you decide to do.
