a good way to help with shading would be to figure out where the light is hitting and that will help with the the contrast in shadow, make sure youre able to show how the hair folds and that it has layers/depth

I agree with the advice above, but i would say work from dark to light as well - for me at least i think leaving the light bits until the end helps pull the whole peice together

I guess the main thing is to separate hair volume to some big pieces. They shouldn't be so fluffy
