How can I make hair and beard "more realistic"?

hollow iris
#

I don’t do much realism, but try to add more loose strands, and make the beard not stick onto the face too much.

#

imma try and draw over it wait ^^

#

here’s my take, hope the helped <33
p.s also made the shadows darker

It depends on how prominent you want the AA

#

and it looks like hes slumped over so if that is what you want it looks good

U don't have to do individual lines for every strand of hair, a lot of the time u can js make a big blot of the silhouette of the hair and draw fine strands outside that silhouette. Also really thin and light sketching can make ur beard look more soft and look more hair like, which could give it a more realistic look, this can apply to your overall sketch.
Lighting and shading could also benefit the hair on ur sketch, make highlights, midtones, and core shadows, hair isn't a black hole after all, to help with that u can try looking at the hair and drawing it part by part
This is just my observation
