#What can I do to make my art better?

this is actually very good! the only tip is: you are using soft lighting, but when there is soft lighting there will never be soft shadows either. use hard edged shadows to add depth!
Alr, tysm!
learn that even if we dont draaw thhem
everything have a skeletal body
your drawing above ddoesnt understamd the skeleeton of the charactter so it look weirdd
sup
okayy ssso
the back of the skull is not that flat even for a anthro
you should give it more volume
it will make it less weird
the jaww is opened out so the skull should acomodaate mmore room as wwell
Ahh I see! Tysm! I understand it better now
Also, is the background fine?
When I do comms, I draw backgrounds for free, regardless of how complicated they are
its pretty
but it seem a lil out of place and doesnt suit the characteer beiing drawn
the bg alone is lovely
you draw the bg better than the character >_>
LMAO
Thanks ahaha
The problem is I can't draw backgrounds
So it kinda just looks like that fr
I mean I can but Idk if they look good or not
maah its good aaf
the character not being rendered is the problem
imagine this
the whole behind scene is a beautiful sakura type shit that iss gorgeouss and brigght/saturated
thhhen the character isnt blooended in well will insatantly feel a little off
what you can do is put a little mutiply layer on top of the character then put some red shade in that layer
or highlight/give shade that is pinkish or red as hightlight and glowy
totally will be great blend options
Really? I tried my hardest to render/shade it
I'm still learning how to
What even is the difference between shading and rendering I don't get it 😭
Ahh I see
Tysm! I really appreciate your help vro
no probs mate
idk 🤷
jk
render involve everything
highlight shade all of it
shade only mean shadow part
try moving the ears back and give the back more hair
give some light that bounced back from the ground
andd bad subsccatteeringg lights
will be ayyyy okay
immaa find some example vidss ass well
oh yeah midtines too
midtones
here watch this
the person is explaining the whole shading process
the bg is very bright ussingg pure white
so in the same situation as you
alr bye
Ah alright! Tysm!
hi.
the biggest thing artists do when they are still getting the hang of things is value. Value makes a piece pop. in this piece, the values of the subject almost meld with the background. of course, colors do help differentiate the subject from everything else but the value never changes.
making it greyscale helps with the piece to see where you need more value.
Here is an example with an illustration i did recently. this piece is predominantly blue. however, you will notice that my subject is darker in value than the background, making her stand out more.
Thank you so much! I totally appreciate it! Also your artwork looks great. How can I make an artwork grayscale tho? Is there any app I can use?
Also, the red thing I circled is the grayscale right?
there should be a layer type you can add called hue/saturation/luminosity. there should be something similar in other drawing softwares.
in procreate, it should be under adjustments
photoshop and sai should be more similar to CSP (Which is what i use)
I use Photoshop!
And that's really helpful, tysm!
A question tho can you draw well on Photoshop if you have a drawing pad
My art school forced me to buy a MacBook and I'm soon gonna have to buy a drawing pad too
We regularly use Photoshop and (generally just adobe programs) and I heard we'll be animating on Photoshop
So I was curious
@burnt arch forgot to tag you
yes. I used to draw on photoshop before making the switch to Clip Studio. There is only one setting that you can do to make it easier, and that would be stabilization. it would be under the brush settings (i forgot where)
photoshop does have a lot good free brushes online if you can find them, but honestly i only use the air brush and a custom texture brush i bought from a brush back years ago.
for effects you can make them your own. it's all about messing with settings.
