#How do I shade hair?

Depends on the light source. Assuming this pieces' source is the from the viewers perspective, areas like the neck area and back/top of the head have larger areas, while the bangs and strands have light amounts of shading on the edges. Made a pretty bad sample but maybe it helps idk
Use this for reference, the shading is really just Darker versions of the colors
For shadows just color pick the base color and slide your Hue slightly and darken it a little, same for highlight but lighter
here's how I did the shadow
Like what I posted?
I basically said the same thing and gave an example of my own
Gracias this was a very good explanation
I would say yes BUT it looks like his hair is greasy his hair isn’t meant to be a super model but I will do the shade idea bc that still looks very nice ty for the help
I don’t understand this at all I’m sorry- the thing is I’m not trying to learn to just shade this drawing I just mean in general at least some tips and I think since my characters hair is also not as curly as this it won’t work
His hair isn’t either, it’s just messy, it just shows in the general areas that shading should be put
🤔 yeah but I still don’t under stand where like the black boxes areas?
You could buy them on some of the tips of the bangs and near the top
Also Ty for this

I Unfortunately have few human drawings so that was the best I could do
We’ll still thank you anyway
