#Photorealism Improvements

you cant tell me that this isnt a photo, this is so good
I need help hahahaha
I don't know but it doesn't feel photorealistic-ish? to me at least
Anything that can be improved or changed is helpful because I do not know if the light needs changes or tones need adjusting ~
I'm not qualified to criticize this :(

except there are some random lines clipping through the scene idk what that's about
Oh yea don't mind those, for anyone coming and looking those are there because I only took a screenshot of the screen without disabling dev-look stuff
Those lines are tree spawners
you could also add a few bushes, right now there's a lot of low grass/flower type stuff, and trees, but not a lot in between vertically speaking
I added more small pines just before closing the project view..
Gonna add the newest image soon ™️
oooh yeah those look nice
I might still add some bushes though but it's up to you
wait i think i see one lol
From where the camera stands bushes might cover the view
Main reason of not adding them in "that" shot
I can add bushes if I move it a bit but I like that view I just feel that where the camera stands right now at the bottom the light looks weird
I was thinking something like this maybe (of course more realistic)
I like it, how do you feel about it?
also is this for a game or just for renders?
I feel like this scene would look really cool if it was animated, like if you could see the plants blowing in the wind, the sky changing, maybe some wildlife
Renders, just portfolio stuff
It is animated
Like the grass trees etc have animation
ooh can I see?
Hmm sure give me a sec i'll make a tiny video
I still feel it can be better but I might just overstretch with my expectations
The animation was not made by me so the only feedback I am keen on getting is the light > scene composition > colors and ambience
I also plan on going with an aurora shot
Cause this was or would be the main idea of why this scene was created
Aiming for this
Well the images inside hahaha
The "house" placed in a spot where auroras can be seen now.. for a night shot I want it to feel more "magic" and it's not something I touched yet but as far as day works the main camera looks good enough to be used as is
I think an aurora is a good idea but also a sunset shot with some oranges, reds, purples, etc would contrast really well with the rich greens of the scene I think
you could put it on the opposite side and have the light reflect off the scene
I am biased because I love these kinds of sunsets (I made these)
Wow, so then you are a 2d artist?
yes :D
Wowie
For how long have you been doing it?
Thank you thank you, getting there with the looks and vibes, it might need a colder foggy touch
you could try adding multiple different colored light sources
like imitating that sunset
it seems like you mainly have red atm
but maybe I'm wrong
Wow now THIS is actually great
it's really hard for me to see the plants you've made in the foreground
maybe adjust the contrast a bit
But for the morning should be okay, no?
I do like the direction though
hmm
it looks good
I'm not necessarily commenting that in terms of realism
I just miss the pretty plants lol
What are those string things?
the sky itself looks a lot better in this photo
But it looks great
yeah :)
That’s rlly cool
Oh yea it might be cause fog covers it too much
Where?
Thank you, still trying to figure out some stuff
In the main is that a camera angle lining or is their a rope going through it
I started doing procedurally generated art when I was 11 and then I got into a little bit of 2D art as well as photography when I was 18 maybe? then I started focusing really hard on 2D art like 2 years ago. So most of my 2D art skills I've developed in the last 2 years approximately. You can see the timeline on my Instagram (also I'm 25 now)
Oh you mean the strings? those are only for creation purposes, the main images won't have them
Okay at first I didn’t realize it because of my bad eyes but then I zoomed in and saw that it was yellow
I think this is actually great but the angle of which the sun stops being "sunrise" or sunset kinda messes up the view hahaha
also you definitely need to hide in alien in the treeline
No worries, I should've specified after
Nah it’s alright
Hahaha that'd be a sight but arctic.. who knows what hides
Pretty nice to have an inclination towards the general art medium and hey it's progressive so it's only gonna get better!
Well with that being said I can or rather.. will have 3 shots out of which I will try to encompass more times of the day
And yea but generally I doubt I can add more otherwise it's too filled
Yeah I'm pretty happy because I feel like I'm getting better pretty fast but I also push myself really hard so sometimes I don't feel like it's fast enough ironically
Trust the process, because I wasn't here 5 years ago
Like I kinda slacked sometimes and I am self-learned but for me projects tend to be "personal test > deleted" or "Portfolio needs to grow > post"
And I mostly delete soooooooo
NOooooo don't delete!!
data hoarding life
I also made a tiny cave in this same world/scene down below
oooo
you could also do an isometric photo of the scene with the front sliced open so you can see the above and the cave below at the same time
composite shot?
Too composite to be a shot
Like it takes some seconds to move my camera from up there to the cave
I have infinite ideas given enough time
yeah but you could have two cameras
and then blend the two seams
I also covered up a huge hole here with .. well, cliffs
Cause I like how it looks from below
I played a f**k ton of minecraft as a kid so I bet some of my art skills come from that
Hahahaha, does count a bit
are you trying to get a certain kind of job with your portfolio
Well I am aiming for 3d enviro or 3d artist generalist or whatever I can even get hired as
be careful because I heard the game industry treats employees really bad especially AAA studios
I have a job now as a game tester but yea I also know the industry is ew when it comes to jobs like that
Maybe I can go into advertising and work with companies or studios that advertise buildings, houses, etc
Cause this scene that I made if you work out the image itself it can come out as real
There is a lot of potential, maybe even sell my art separately for wall art and stuff like that
also I'd recommend explore nature and going traveling possibly and bring a camera
you'd see all kinds of amazing stuff and inspiration and it would just be fun
though it is expensive
That or open google
I don't think it's the same
It's not but paints a picture
I've been backpacking before it's so nice
I made this scene based on just a feeling and an image on tripadvisor hahahaha
yeah :)
I'm sure you can make amazing stuff without going into nature but I bet you would love it though
it's up to you though
