#i want the building and the cat to be the first thing the viewer looks at.

I think you might cornsider switching your composition a bit. try to break down your design to thirds. your viewers will be drawn to the central box first so any object you want as your main focal point should be roughly in that space.
you can see the building is there, for the most part but the cat is not, bringing the cat into that central space will draw more attention fromthe viewer
i think if that isn't an option, pump the values on the cat, more everything to push it forward, its a bit muted right now and deeper values would push it forward and add interest
Honestly make the green thing more blurry, it’s the first thing I saw
the cat looks too small compared to the railing, which might help a bit
Ohhh...Took me a while to understand but i think i get what you're saying now
you mean the wall of the balcony?
Oooh I'll try that thnx :)))
I think they mean the little green artifact/doodle dead center, which speaks to the point of the viewers eyes going to the middle frame
Is this digital? Are you able to pull the wall and cat up and to the left
Yes this is digital, ill try that and let yk . :))
That was supposed to e a building but its kinda incomplete lol (i hope we're talking about the same thing tho)
i think thats the thing
oooouhhhh thats my brush from my art program lol im so srryy 😭
i think the other buildings in the mid range being out of focus is a good touch, you shouldnt be able to see too much detail from that distance
aww tysm!! i haven't given the details of the building too much time since im way too focused on the cat
i think we are drifting more into a discussion of style here, and keep in mind my medium is water color. IMO we should be breaking down our landscapes into layers, with the focal point being the first layer, and the receeding layers should be losing focus, with the objects furthest in the back being mostly suggestive and with nearly no detail. I think at the point you are at here you have a really good result for that sort of style
i think thats what drew me to comment on this piece and makes me interested in it
Aw thank you, you have no idea how much that means to me, your way of explaining is really great too :))
decided to take all yours' advice and changed some things up. its still a wip but lmk what you guys think
I saw the cat and building right away
yippieeee
You've nailed it
aahh thank god, Imma go complete the rest of it. TYSM once again🥹
