I am going to go on the assumption that the proportions are an intentional, stylistic choice.
I would suggest creating more bold shadow shapes. Right now all the edges of the shadows are soft and blended (which is still important) but having more dark and defined shadow shapes can help you really define the whole piece.
Also, push your darks and lights.The hair is supposed to go from black to white, right? If so, I would suggest putting some darker colors into the black part and more light colors into the white part.
This could be a stylistic choice, but it just feels very soft is all. If that is intentional, then I think it is in a good spot for the most part. I would suggest using a reference for drawing the hand
