your style is really nice, i love how the render( ofc lighting) looks amazing, the textures also really colourful, i can recommend you one person who draws nice bgs and textures leagfog1 in ig
(you can try practice making on perspectives and trust process i hope it helped
)
hey! so this might be long a bit, but your arstyle already has a lot going for it, so it's only few details here and there that needs some attention to ^^
for example:
there is a slight deformation in the skull cause you (im assuming) tried to draw the head in a top-ish view, and it works, though the back of the skull wasnt deformed properly with the angle so it ended up still looking like a front view with clear indication that it was attempted to be drawn in a more top view angle
the fix to this is super simple, a bit of liquifying to the back of the skull would pretty much make it accurate
this is just a very minor detail but perspective plays a big role in catching poeple's eye, and the more you try to work twards more extremes in your perspectives, your art will be much more eye catching
now to the second point of improvement would be: stronger light source and shading
now excuse me for this extremly rough render but I cant stress enough how important it is to have clear contrast in your artwork when it comes to coloring
now, the easy way to spot the contrast is to see it through a black and white filter, and see how different the contrast is between the background and your character, and for the most part the character pops out of the background so its a great start!
but the problem arises when it all of the character that's popping up, it makes it hard for catch soemone's eyes when the eyes arent sure what to focus on? the face? the hair? the clothes?
its important to use lighting an shadows to direct the eye on the part you want to be eyecatching/the part you want poeple to focus on the most, and im assuming, its the face and a bit of the body since they are pretty much the center focus of the image
excuse my poor handwritting, but if you can think of the human eye as a camera, it will help a lot in telling which parts are closer and which parts are further and based on that, you can shade them from brightest to darkest to fit the emotion you want to give and parts you want to catch the eye
a thing you can also do to blend the character with the background more, it will give a more "complete" feel to your artwork is it helps all the elements in the artwork to work together
so in order to try and blend the character more with the pink background, i took the background shade of pink and air brushes it slightly over the darker shadows (you know the effect when things further in real life tend to become more bluish with the sky color because they are far away? we are using this effect here) an used the same pink color to add more highlights to the entirety of the character side instead of just her cloths, unifiying the light comming from behind/side of her
there is a bit of light comming from behind the character's back, that light effect is completly stylistic and its optional, its just something i added to make the character body/silloutte more clear, making the body silloutte more clear will give the character more dimension and make her pop up from her hair
this is how it looks without it, the picture still works fine without it, its just a stylistic, maximum optimization of color.
but yeah
so here are all the edits and how they look with colors and on the greyscale
and i hope this helps a bit to improve your illustrations, you have a rlly nice style and i wish you the best! ❤️
thanks so much for the in-depth advice!!
values can change the viewers attention so much, I'm gonna use a Grayscale filter from now on, just gotta find it in krita

hello!! your style is very cute, i love the regloss fanart! i definitely recommend looking more into practicing lineart and line weight as well. it will help in adding more depth to your work!
i recommend watching this video mostly, but other lineart-related videos on youtube are good too!
