need general help with art, beginner artist

This is my oc, I just started drawing a week ago.
And just randomly learned how to draw humans a day ago, using the mirror tool
So now I have a oc.. cause why not?? 💞

Need general tips on how I could make my art better, what I need help with mainly:

Shading
Hands/fingers
Head shapes
Body's
Hair??
Need help with understanding what rendering is

What's rendering?? I genuinely don't know

Rendering usually refers to the process of bringing your art from a sketch to a finished drawing or the process of exporting/loading a drawing!! (But almost always the first thing)
Your art is adorable!!

Honestly at this stage I think your best bet is to keep drawing and referencing!! /there’s not much direct advice anyone can give you just yet I think? definitely keep exploring and finding what you like / how you like to draw or how you aspire to draw!!
I found it the most helpful to look at drawings of what I’m trying to do and try to somewhat copy it. So try searching up the things you’d most like to work on, or if you ever see a drawing and think “woah, I wanna draw something like that too”, use that energy to try and reference it!!
But I can give you some general resources!!

(This one has some good explanations for the coloring process, though it might just be easier to learn these yourself from referencing rather than tire yourself out treating it like a textbook assignment, it’s helpful to know terms like penumbra though!)

Aside from links, Pinterest s a whole is a great resource for just about anything, I’d recommend it above those two actual resources lol

for a beginner you have a great sense of proportion jn the body! and i like the outfit design on the newest one i would recommend studying face shapes and leanring some fscial anatomy

id say use references! you can use human poses for body anatomy, they help me alot!
