Mermay Tail help

Trying to figure out how to style the bottom right character's tail (yes it's Garnet from Steven Universe, it's for an AU) I tried to theme her off of a Beluga whale but that's difficult to do given her color scheme and am trying to modify without re-lining. Any suggesstions are appreciated

I like how I have it now, I just think it could be better, even if it means not being a Beluga. I just want it to look good

I think going the traditional route and making the tail one color and the torso another color could work better than mixing the colors, how they are right now doesn't really read as a Beluga for me

Something like this, you can add more color variation but this is the ideia!
