Is there any specific style of rendering you want to follow?
nothing specific, just something thats not realism, maybe matching the lips??
Hmm well cell shading is def a good place to start
Mark out the parts that you think have shadow on it and just fill that in with a hard brush (not airbrush)
the light is on top and facing down, but i never studied shadows..
For example, since this finger is slightly behind, it will probably have shadows cast over it, so you can try shading the whole thing a different color
For now just look for things that are very obviously getting covered by other things!
ah ok!
For example, our ears kind of curve in, right?
The red bit is the part that sticks out and the blue part is the bit that curves in
Since red part sticks out, it'll cast a shadow on the blue part
So you could color shadows into blue part, etc etc
You can check back in after trying things out as well and I or someone else could give you some feedback!
Sweet!
BTW, I noticed that you used black to shade the neck
You could also consider using black to shade the skin in general
i did that while doing the lineart, wasn't thinking lol
I think it looks pretty good!
i could do that, but i'm not looking for something that dramatic, just something easy on the eyes
Woot!
im not sure if im a fan of it..
Doesn't look too bad! Do you know what exactly is bothering you about it right now?
looking up specific styles that you like and/or want to emulate could help
idk where to put the highlights and shadows, and his hair isn't as messy as i usually draw hair so its harder to making it look 'good'
i've been drawing for 7 hours what 😭
Maybe try putting some shadows at the area his hair parts? Hair usually dips in at the place it stems from (unless ofc the hairstyle involved the hair standing up!
Defining some notable strands might also help!
i did that, i think i'm happy with the hair!
yes, i know!
Put in some cursory creases and I think it'll look plenty great and finished
It already looks great!
Also I like the way you drew the eyelashes, they're very pretty
ty
the fact that no one thing matched the other 😭
moobs
guh done, might fix the hair later
WHEW IT LOOKS GREAT!
