So i'm done with this sketch, however

  1. How do i make the shoulders "shouldering"?
  2. Context: his body is facing to the right whilst the head is in the opposite direction, but i cant seem to figure how to make it more fluid looking. (And the thing on the left, beside the scarf / collar, is a wing, not shoulder. The cloth is brighter)
  3. I put a close light source to him on the right above, but i can't seem to understand how I should put shadows on his face, it looks just wrong??
  4. Is the horns in the right direction?
  5. The right eye is weird, but im not sure how to fix it
  6. Anything else you can give (But be straightforward, and detailed about it)

hello!! im not an expert so i really hope this doesnt come off as condescending or anything but heres what i noticed. from above the shoulders tend to look more rounded, so they should come down from the neck, following the trapezius muscles. try looking up a picture or a 3d model from a similar angle if you think that could help !

the right eye looking "off" could be that its a little high if you follow the parallel lines from, but the shape of the eye is pretty good! i really like how you drew his features your style is cool :•)

as for the lighting. its always tricky 😭😭 a cool trick i learned tho is that you can make a really quick sketch of the same chara in the same pose, but from the pov of the lightsource. so imagine you put the camera where the light came from. everything you can see from that perspective will be in light and everything you cant see will be in shadow.

i think the horns look great imo but i guess it kind of depends on the specific shape theyre supposed to be, rn they look as if they went more "back" as opposed to "up", kinda wrapping around the head. if you wanted them to look like they went higher maybe the tip could be a bit bigger to show its closer to the viewer.

i did a quick redline in case it would help you visualize what i meant. sorry my critique ended up so long and i hope it was helpful in any way 😭

Though i meant the body is facing rightward →

That thing behind him is his wing, i was drawing someones roblox avatar 😅
I didnt think much of it that it'd be misinterpreted, though it also gave me an insight, i'll make the wing more clear

Hello Sonance.. probably I’m not a good explainer to tell about good revision of your art but I’ll try to explain based on my usual drawing until right now

The first is..
sometimes when it comes with tricky perspective. I usually search it by browsing in internet

Or using some application that helps to arrange the human body pose

And then using it as the reference

But.. to make sure it looks like in the right place.. i usually do some kind of sketch like this (the pict i attached)

Makes some guide line and simple dimension to help our brain to imagine the shape and perspective.

Especially the horn..

Does it help you, Sonance? I hope my explanation is clear and understandable.
