I can't explain why, but the sketch just has more appeal to it. The expression is better, the eyes are better, the face just doesnt work with the lineart and I can't fix it. Any tips?

because your skectch has so many lines that wont go in the final thing, add a few more lines in your linart and use color to ither empiths them or hid them

since you made the face bigger, make the eyes the same size, shape and thickness as ur sketch, along with increasing the size of the nose and mouth a little so they match the bigger face, make her neck thicker as well
her hair looks to flat so let it follow the flowy lines on the sketch and make the top of her head more round,
