VAULES / COLOR HELP I NEED TO GET INTO THIS ART CLASS

Im making a painting and i need the ditigal sketch frist to plan stuff but IM NOT SSURE WHAT TO DO

idk what to do for colors or vaules help

I think you need to replace the dark values around the armor with a lighter value! The first image was very good in that regard you just needed to look at it with color

Same thing with the frame around the character, it's a bit too dark and muddles the entire piece. But when you have that lighter value surrounding the person the frame doesn't muddle it all

If you still want the darker value you can also try using an outline of a brighter value to make the character not fade away into it

You are doing very good though I can't wait to see the final product!

got it thanks im also struggling with color a bit Ill change the thing around the character to lighter soon ;w; does this look good for colors?

THe colors are very good they're all sort of in that same dull category and they're complimentary colors as well, blue purple and greens, the gold does give it a bit of a flare but that's also combined well given that it's a duller color

I think you could continue the darker green around the frame at the bottom or maybe add more gold to like continue the theme rather than leaving it lighter green, unless you have some sort of plan for it

Oh man I just noticed the sword cutting through the frame that's so freaking cool

I wanna rephrase, they're not duller they're just less saturated which is cool

thanks its one of my characters and that the sword he wields hes a monster hunter, this is the entire sword
