For the second one, i think some lighting would help a lot

the first drawing very good but if you make the character big enough to fill the screen i think that would be better and interesting

I would suggest using less black for the lineart on the second piece. (Unless that's your art style)
The lineart around the skin is normally warmer and less harsh :)
Other than that, you have a great style going!
