I find it helps to add more sharp shadows! For example, in the hair and under the bow! Just to really emphasize what you want to stick out. So far it's really good, though :)

I think you can learn to "hide colours" in your artworks :) instead of just the base colours and only differentiating the shades
as shown from ref below
should be part of colour theory - warm&cool colours as well is not really utilised in here. consider using one of them as shadow, while the other as light
(search it up on pinterest or smth, see what kind of effect it achieves)
and the lack of lighting(from where) portrayed in your artwork doesn't really make it pop; it seems way too bright without much eccentric lighting

variation of lighting and facial expressions can be used to portray moods (e.g. lighting from above, with a sadistic smile further enhances the effect of creepiness)
