PLEASE HELP Cant Resize

i can get it to say reszie but it wont hold long enough to click before the side menu bar opens and i dont know how to get rid of the side menu and im going to scream if i cant fixx this, somoene please help? anyoneeee

Can you just grab the side and drag move the window up a bit, then resize?
