||maybe beat the game with zag aspect with all of the mirror upgrades removed? if you beat the game without those kinds of helps, maybe then it will trigger? then again, it could be that you just have to exhaust the dialouge with persephone, since if you spend enough time enduring something, you will get used to it||

you can't survive on the surface very long because zag, like hades, is bound to the underworld

Thoughts. ||Cute little ending. Definitely feels kind of "videogame-y" with the sickness prompting you to do repeat runs. It's nice to get constant story over multiple runs, but I can't shake the feeling it's a shorter story stretched over some hours.||

Gonna sorta re-ask: has anyone gotten the "Epilogue" achievement yet? I don't think post-credits puts you immediately into Epilogue, since I got the Game Completed achievement but not the Epilogue achievement.

i'll say this much ||considering how vulnerable Hades comes across in this epilogue stuff and how forthright he is with how much of a firebrand he is as a father it the kind of resolution I wanted to see in Hades, but wasn't expecting. Was kind of figuring it'd end after the ending, but to see this is really, really nice and surprising.||

The shame about it is as much as the original mythos didn't care for consent and that jazz, Hades and Persephone have always been the more stable of the Gods pretty much period.

They both had affairs once, and both because of loneliness rather than spite.

It was Hades with a Nymph iirc, and Persephone with Adonis, other than that they're genuinely the power couple in Greek mythology unless you count Orpheus and Eurydice

Spoiler obviously: ||Getting the Epilogue trigger took a while. After "beating" the game (post-credits), I think it's "do a bunch more runs until Persephone gets settled down a bit more and then gives you the Family Reunion quest".||

||Instead of doing full runs after marathoning all day/afternoon/evening/night, I just did short Tartarus "runs" to advance the story.||

#

||took me about ~6-8 runs post-credits to get the Family Reunion quest||

#

MAJOR SPOILER REGARDING EPILOGUE STORYLINE: ||The Family Reunion quest sends you off to speak to each God(dess). Afterwards, you come back to talk to Persephone + Hades, and things are alright again, and you completed the Epilogue 🙂 Very easy to complete (if you want) by just selecting each god(dess)' keepsake, then resetting. I did a few full runs kuz I was bored resetting Tartarus at that point to advance the story.||

Speaking of Epilogue, ||Good on Zeus for playing along. There's a LOT of human moments in this game, just the idea that knew the real deal and went "y'know what I'm NOT gonna stick my oar in this." was something I wasn't expecting. Much as I'd have loved to have seen all the interactions of the Gods, Persephone's lines about it's not what is said, it's how it's said really stuck out to me as a great bit of writing.||

to clarify ||it didn't actually get displayed but I can't help but imagine after the confessional happened they went "AND NOW, ORPHEUS" and he rolls out singing about Zagreus. it DOES seem inferred from his post epilogue dialogue that he's very, VERY confused.||

crikey though, all in all Hades has been one hell of a ride. It's rare to see a Roguelike with a story, let alone one so detailed and brimming with character. I'll have to poke about a bit more cuz I don't doubt all the ||God text and voicelines after the party are completely different as well. The implications of things are pretty awesome too, though I do feel a lil sad that Zag's not really able to walk around and about on the surface, though I DO wonder if that's because he had no real ties there after Persephone heads back. From the sounds of things, when Persephone does go to the surface to stay with her mother and the Olympians for the 6 months or so MAYBE Zag can visit around that time since his life force is attached to hers in some part? Also makes me wonder if there'd be any DLC, considering how neatly this closes up.||

regarding DLC ||IF there was any DLC, I wonder how it'd even be framed. Only thing I could think of is the one story of Hercules slamming his way through the underworld to wrestle Cerebus, iirc. Maybe some strange spin on that where Zagreus is going through the underworld trying to prevent Hercules coming -in- instead of trying to escape?||

@leaden fjord nope, ||i actually beat it for bounties each time at like 12-15 heat across whatever weapon had the +darkness/gem modifier; just have a lot of runs down pre-1.0 so I can get sub-20 minute runs each time without too much effort as long as heat level isn't too too high||
