any boon that applies effects for each hit will work wonders for the hidden aspect of Exagryph. Hangover and chill both work exceedingly well, but I would also like to suggest Zeus' attack boon here too. Since it will generate a bolt for each unit of ammo spent, and since that damage is flat damage, you can easily clear rooms in a jiffy.
Try out the Exagryph (hidden aspect) + Lightning Strike + Tri-beam upgrade sometime.

You just need to practice and find the play style that works for you, as well. Part of getting decent is just dying a whole lot until you learn how to deal with the monsters
