Oh yo, I got a Bouldy buff that was like 4567% more cast damage. I have a bond forged with them. I'm not sure if it was intended or if it was a bug but I 4 hit Hades with Festive Fog. 16,000+damage per cast.

If you unlock the final bit of Hades's entry, it says that Zag was essentially the only emotional connection he had left (as he distanced himself from all his relatives), and now he sees that bond fraying too.

can someone give me some tips on how to beat the last boss other than 'git gud'? I feel like i've done it twice because I had an amazing build, but though I can get to him reasonably often I can't often beat him

it's a little frustrating because I could totally be doing higher Heat runs, but I don't get the rewards since I can't beat that one roadblock right at the end

Lots and lots of health generally helps, as does having a call that makes you impervious when you use it. Athena's boons are also very very good

always kill his casts before they explode, if he spin attacks towards you you need to dash through him, in the second phase if you can't reach cover you can avoid his laser attack by standing right on top of him

pay attention to how you play against other bosses or enemies, as many of hades's moves are lifted from or take inspiration from them

the lasers are directly taken from snake/brimstones, his spin is taken from theseus, etc

middle management elite skullcrusher has a move similar to hades's green wave

I found for me, getting extra dashes from Hermes always helps a ton

Same with the Hermes boon to recover health on dash

it's easier to beat him on range weapon, just dodge his thrust/swing then attack from afar

2nd phase is trickier due to laser beams, gotta find a cover when he does it, unless you play shield

Maybe just max the Chaos shield first and spam it to farm Titan Blood for the rest

currently I have finished 12 heats on Chaos shield but still at 1 -2 for the rest

alternatively, just get a build that completely nullifies difficulty in order to farm for more blood, like hunting blades

@fierce kernel what helped me in my first runs is figuring out 1) which weapon I was most comfortable with and 2) which boons worked well (for me) with that weapon

I just suck horribly with the bow, gun and spear. I do best with the shield. That’s just my play style. Then I ran through and picked up all the boons I could, knowing I’d die, but I needed to know how they worked and how I liked them

When I first beat hades, I figured out I preferred Ares’ call because I was invulnerable and could essentially just stand on the boss and catch my breath and do damage to him

So what I might recommend in general is lots of health if possible, but if you see Athena’s dash? That seems pretty useful imo. Artemis’ support fire boon is A+ in my book

Keeping in mind that I personally play more defensively than offensively. I tend to value Aphrodite’s damage reduction pretty highly for survival purposes

And speaking of defensive play, Hermès can help with that too, by giving you dodge or extra dashes

So I decided to look at my boons after gifting Bouldy nectar and now, I see what people are talking about with the rare chance for a subtle buff from him. That's cute.

And then later in the same run, I decided to see what would happen if I summoned an ally into a Thanatos room.

the summons/legendary keepsakes are kinda like plushies, but when used, definitely summon a pet. For the Sisyphus one, for example, it's an attack/supplementary thing where he drops a boulder on top of enemies that crashes and delivers darkness/food/coins. Thanatos' summons that Ring of Death he always uses during his rooms to aid you. And what I've seen from Megaera's is that she spawns her flame attack in a few directions.
