But going back to Hephaestus for a moment: considering how they make everyone pretty attractive/visually appealing in Hades, I couldn't imagine Hephaestus being ugly (even if some lore considers him unappealing). Really the only thing that makes him "unattractive" is the scars from being tossed as a child and having a limp. The rest of his characteristics are basically trademarks of bronze age smithing

His original domains actually focused a lot more on death, rebirth and primordial madness, with wine being almost secondary. Zagreus is a Mycenaean entity that doesn't usually show up in Ancient Greek mythology but was still very important to the underworld hierarchy. The cult of Dionysus was likely supressed for several centuries but actually survived and underwent modification before being publicly accepted into the pantheon
