A list of things that are "coming soon" and then they get gradually dragged into Done for X build, before it releases. Things sometimes get pulled out of the future release map, nature of the beast, it's not a solid commitment.

This might not quite be the ideal solution, given that people like surprises and I'm sure there's plenty you want to keep close to your chest, but I just wanted to bring attention to this as some inspiration. Awesome job on the Q&A you guys, awesomely in-depth responses

The one issue I have with the game

Is the rng of blood gates

and wells

So interesting exploit that I stumbled across earlier while reading the tech support channel, and that I just tested for myself. If you double-tap the gift button, you can gift to a god multiple times. In my own test I only had 1 Ambrosia but was still able to gift twice. The game briefly displayed my inventory as having -1 Ambrosia, I'll have to wait and see if picking one up returns me to +1 or to zero. I fully expect this to be patched at some point, and yes, I did report it as a bug

Sounds like a hold-over from the Bastion exploit of being able to trigger interactions fast enough to get the item (shard) multiple times. The speedrun strat is bind the interact key to mousewheel and scroll madly

what leads me to believe it's unlikely is something they said in the recent ama. they stated that whatever you do in game should have narrative purpose

so it'd only make sense to still have a narrative reason to continue playing after you finish the game

maybe I'm thinking too much about it tho. We might get a proper ending and whenever you start a new run it's just back before your success

A new translation of the Odyssey just came out I'd really recommend. By Emily Wilson

Very easy to read and great translator's notes

Ovid's Metamorphoses is also a good source

I've ogt the penguin version of that

The Robert Graves' translation of the Illiad is the one I read and it's still considered pretty definitive for high school and university, though it's a bit dense

These are all sort of the more fundamental stories. For the weird orphic stuff you have to dig into more obscure stuff like academic papers.

Otherwise I'd recommend going to a museum. The Metropolitan Museum of Art for example (where I used to work) has a fantastic Greek and Roman section where you can find a lot of interesting little aspects of Greek mythology and greekculture at the time

although keep in mind that collection was not, uh, the most ethically sourced (a lot of tomb raiders sold that stuff to the museum)

Also, in Europe a lot of the museums are stocked because Napoleon raided his way up and down Greece and Italy.
