I know this has been brought up in feeedback, but I want to say: The game unpausing after the closing of a bug report is so goofy. Considering the game auto-pauses when you alt tab as is. It should just trigger the pause menu. Not a huge deal though, since this is for the ebta purposes.

I think though, that Styx is probably the issue. Styx is harder, which means you have less overall margin for error with Hades

It's weird. I can more or less reliably pass through Styx. But Elysium, and then later on the end boss, just break me.
It's a fun challenge, don't get me wrong, I'm just surprised how it's suddenly spiked in difficulty after the patch.

When picking a boon there are some cases where it would be nice to see the health bar and the rest of the UI. Right now, it looks ultra-clean with the awesome art but I would be nice If we could switch to the boon info screen when choosing a boon

It's a little like the broken spearpoint, in that it gives you pseudo-iframes after getting hit
it severly lowers damage you take from poison and snakestones in styx
it makes hades not whack you three times in a row, and protects you from getting gibbed by his laser

The vampiric aspect is a really dangerous variable to add to this weapon mode, as even when I didn't know about all those manipulations which allow you to gain +6 hp per tick, I still got plenty of healing.

Eh, I don't know how hard it is, but 200 damage times 8 if it works (hera bow with 4 casts and poseidon legendary for double knockbacks) is pretty nuts
Think even if I only get that off once or twice in the whole fight its more benefit than 1 extra level on a skill
especially because it was already a 2 level pom, so it would have been a fourth or higher level which provide little benefit

My 16 heat run just now used 100% enemy damage, 60% enemy count, 3 extreme measures, middle management, and heightened security. I had to play slow and safe, but it didn't feel too bad aside from taking long
I really like the bow.

i just jumped into phlegethon (sp?) because i was so pissed about the build the game was giving me, i don't need/want any gemstones or darkness, give me boons dammit, i had no attack, no special, no dash, no call, and the game gave me ares cast for the bow which loaded up my cast but it's upredictable against fast moving targets who ignore 2 instances of damage

Easy Mode Nemesis: Chain two Dash attacks, use your Special, rinse and repeat.
Never stay still.
Maybe mix in a single regular swipe between Dash attacks.

It's what the sword requires to be viable. Otherwise, if you get World Splitter or Flurry Slash, you can use those primarily.
You have to be dashing very frequently when playing with the sword.
With World Splitter, you simply alternate Attack and Special.

@thick sedge Well, you weren't wrong. I picked up Aphrodite's attack and Athena's Cast, both Heroic. Got their Duo, and Athena's Dash, then more potent Weak from Aphrodite. A Chaos Boon for some Attack +% and a Hermes Boon for Attack Speed. Finished it up with Demeter's, "When empty, deal more damage and take less" and Hermes' return stones automatically.

Flurry Slash will let you sit there and go HAM for two seconds, but it's honestly worse DPS than spamming Dash attacks with Double Edge.

Hard Mode, permanently turns on parts of the Pact (including Budget Cuts, heads up) and institutes a minimum Heat requirement that increments by 1 every time you clear. Beat Hades on 5 Heat, you go to 6 or you go back to normal mode.
It's an option when starting a new save file.

@livid comet For the Shield? I took JPEG's advice and didn't try for a build. I ended up mostly relying on a super buffed up, sped up Aphrodite attack, Athena's Dash and Cast. Got some damage reduction, their duo, and that's about it 🙂

Although I missed where you said go for Chaos - I was just using Zagreus, so had 10% damage reduction as well. So I was taking very little damage, and my attack was doing loads.

Hit with a Poseidon Attack/Special/Cast/Dash, you Rupture, strike with Lightning, Jolted, and they don't lose the Jolted.
It was the only thing they could do to make my favorite comp even more fun 🙂

That's what I use, with Damage Control usually swapped out for Lasting Consequences if I'm using poison (which is most of the time on 32 Heat).
I think you still need 80% on LC, 100% turns off all healing.

as a last note, @stable cedar First time you beat Hades is probably the hardest (outside of ridiculously high heat), because you generally beat him before your mirror is fully upgraded and eventually you get really powerful. Also, learning the game any synergies will naturally make your builds far more powerful

my resource recommendations are prioritizing the mirror. At least until you've got all the survival ones and damage modifiers. Then save up gems for upgrades you might find interesting. Deffo go for List of minor prophecies. and save the titan's blood for your fave weapons. Nectar everyone at least once, then Nectar your faves.
