imho Ares curse boons are actually quite good, it's just you have to treat them differently than the others since weapon damage doesn't do anything for them

Bow and Shield special do wonders with Ares because those normally do weak damage at a range but then can coat entire rooms with the curse

the main problem I find with Ares boons is because they don't upgrade "naturally" without Poms, where everything else can get bonus damage via Chaos/Hammer/whatever, it feels like an early game stomper that falls off late game if you don't dedicate yourself to it

I think for mob clearing and widespread damage, yes Ares bow special is good. But for a shotgun playstyle it's not so effective

Right, so where Ares boon is comparatively best is something that hits multiple targets for a low amount of damage about as often as the curse takes to proc (high damage would make Athena better, more frequent would make Zeus / Diyo better, etc)

And it's possible the numbers are tuned such that even in that ideal case, something else is still better, but I don't think so

I mean when i use Sudden Sunder, my dash from it uses similar to usual dash and it's uncomfortable, isnt it? And if you change setting of dash to cursor it changes dash for special. Probably my most frustrating run yet. I got 6 boons in Tartarus, only one higher than a common, and then only two in Asphodel; one from the boat and one from Charon right before the boss (it never offered me the gorgon fight).

I read vicious skewer was the real deal on here and y'all weren't kidding. I beat my highest time score from before the January nerf to Hunters dash, with Divine flourish, pressure point, and clean kill while under shared misery and death insurance. Took me from 16:40 to 16:15.

I actually love the sword. I hated it at first and now it's my favorite weapon. World Splitter, Flurry Blade and Empowered Nova make it tons of fun to use and it doesn't feel weak at all.

I've acctually done my first all-clear with the bow (wich is my least favored weapon). It was actually nice, but I have to admit that I liked it only because of actually good boons from the start. Deadelus with the rapid fire (no charging time and power shot), some Poseidon buff on the attack and athena deflect on the special. It was easy, but I can't shake the feeling that witout that lucky Daedalus Hammer in the first chamber I would have hated all of it.

I really, really don't like the chargning time on the normal attack for the bow. Doesn't feel like the power shot is good enough for the time you need to actually use it. It's fine during Tartarus, but a nightmare in Asphodel

i had extended range on the spear jab, there were two of the stompy heads left in the final head batch

bc of the extended range i could just lurk outside their attack radius and chip away at their health

I find for me it depends on what pact options I’m taking. Shared Misery and Pain Tolerance aren’t too bad, but once you have those and Convenience Fee your choices narrow and you’re forced to pump up their damage if you don’t want Louts moving at Mach 10

Is there a reason that Dread Flight for SoC will never hit the same target more than once? It feels really weak when you're against a single target with a large health pool and it bounces all over the place against objects but hits the target once.

Also hurts when you build a Special shield throw build, to throw it at a single enemy then have to wait 6 seconds to attack because it's hitting a pot or wall offscreen
