Nintendo Switch enemy mob out of bounds bug, a Wretched Witch got stuck between this wall and pillar in Tartarus. I could kill it by using my cast and hit it from the upper left ledge, and had to wait for the casts to drop off to repeat a few times

so yesterday i was playing for several houres , unlocking two of the hidden aspects , the railgun and the bow , bought them after earning the suffician titans blood , did an attempt at an escape with one of them even . i logged off the game and when i logged in again both weapons are gone , they are unlocked , meaning i can buy them again , but i dont own them , and the titanblood is even gone

If you try to start a new save file, a potential workaround is to put at least one rank in every Mirror of Night talent. This may help prevent this specific crash in the future. I'm not sure if this is the right place, but after unlocking the ||pom blossom|| trinket, I maxed it out - however, neither the "Something From Everyone" and "Friends Forever" steam achievements have been granted to me, while I definitely have met both those requirements. Hi @clear vector, thanks for your patience. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we have the ability to restore such significant save progress. I can't be sure what went wrong, but OneDrive sync can often interfere with the game's ability to save, as can a faulty or out of sync computer clock/calendar. I'm very sorry for the issue.

I keep getting ingame popups saying my game can't save, when going to documents/savedgames/hades, I right click the "Hades" folder and its set as "Read-only" when I uncheck the box and apply to all folders, it looks like it works, but then when I go back into properties of the folder the "Read-only" is checked again

@gritty tapir Hey there, that's the Hades Technical Beta, a separate product from the full version of Hades. The Technical Beta was only used temporarily for testing out changes to our engine back in June. It doesn't receive updates and can be uninstalled - the full veresion of Hades should also be in your Library somewhere.

The only thing changing a user would do is change the save folder (Hades wouldn't see the saves from the other user account). Though, not sure why it would stop launching since presumably the second user account doesn't have any save data

Hey ! for the past 2 days i have been trying to play the game but every time i open the game , it just crashes and gives me a black screen instantly , i don't get to see the game menu or hear any sounds . I tried all the things in Tech fixes about the black screen issue , and also tried Uninstalling and reinstalling about 4 times , sadly still no luck

@clear vector you can try opening a variety of the backup saves in your save folder by renaming them to Profile1.sav, though if you've played more they may unfortunately have been overwritten by now

Ok, @distant field you're not getting an automatic bug report at launch I see? Unfortunately I don't know any like dark secret launch options - another user in here was having a similar issue where the game worked before and doesn't now. We pushed some engine changes on Friday that have fixed a similar issue for a lot of people, but seems to have undone compatibility for some others...I'll pass this over to an engineer.

Oh, wait, @foggy cradle sorry I just noticed - you're on an outdated version of the game and that looks like a renderer initialization error. We fixed most of those in a patch shortly after launch, if you update to the latest version - 1.36076 - it should resolve itself

In the meantime, if you try a new save profile a potential workaround may be to put at least 1 rank into every Mirror of Night talent you have unlocked. This might help prevent this specific crash from occurring.

Then for some reason, when I exit and play it again. Dionysus Hangover boons. I picked multiple boons related to Hangover, and by the time I got to Elysium, the frames were consistently incredibly low at all times, enemy projectiles were like stop motion objects. Currently avoiding any boons related to Hangover since it was really impactful

Getting on the barge/arena in Asphodel. Frames are normally before stepping on the barge, then frames drop during the travel animation between it being docked and it no longer moving. Frames back to normal once it's in the middle of the lava.

hello, after the full launch you added achievements on epic as well. However on most games on epic they can only be seen while in the game and after pressing shift + f3 to bring up the epic overlay. In hades there are nowhere to be found. However you can gain them. (yes i know epic has a sucky launcher and i hope you can fix it)

@willow garden I checked your save file, it looks like you may have gotten Artemis' 7th gift event before the current conversation requirement to unlock her heart bar was implemented, assuming you've been playing during early access too. Now that there's an additional requirement to unlock her heart bar, the game has "re-locked" it, even though you've already gifted her to the maximum. It shouldn't mess anything up, just continue down her conversation path and eventually it will unlock again.

Hey, on switch just noticed I cant quit out on the arrival room in Elysium, message just says "clear this chamber to safely quit" but there's nothing to clear.

If you make any changes in a room, like fishing, it can also prompt "Quit" to become greyed out. Going into the next combat room will allow you to quit safely as long as you do so before taking any damage

So I've recently come back to the game with 1.0 coming out created a new save file, I have gotten pretty far into the game but do not have the yellow skills available in the mirror of night? I have spoken to Nyx, I am 6 clears in, 26 escapes.

The requirements are very low - you only need to have spoken to Nyx once and collected at least 300 Darkness - so at a guess, it's been getting pushed back by other prioritized story conversations?
Try throwing away a run or two by dying in Tartarus and see if she offers it to you

Running into the occasional bug on the switch version where Than's sprite is invisible. It's happened 3 times. Twice after the room where you fight along side him, and once in the house after giving him ambrosia. In the last case he ported out, but still had content to deliver so there was just a floating ! left over to interact with.

No, It was immediately after the fight when he moves to the spot of the map where he usually waits to talk. Only there was no sprite. Just an !. I don't recall what the actual dialogue was. The first time it happened was his second appearance in the field.

@dim spruce No worries. I was curious if the issue with basic attack inputs not registering and locking out have been fixed (which meant I could only attack with the special move as well as the cast). Ellis mentioned that a joycon issue was being addressed.

Ive got a really bad hitching & freezing issue, my GPU is up to date, I added the steam launch options and all the other fixes suggested (it happens regardless of whether G-sync is on or off, but for the moment its off), moving the game to the SSD didn't help me either. Sometimes it freezes so severely that it crashes and loses progress, usually in visually busy areas or fights.
also my CPU, GPU and all other loads are minimal when the game runs, but I did notice it puts my power usage on very high with the game
I also play on 21:9, if it helps

hey so i am having some issues with my weapon record i have over 40 runs but for some reason it reset and only shows i have 1 run, all other records are still there its just the weapon one that did that. is there any way to fix this or how do i get my weapon stats back?

usually that just means you have to do a few more runs for the conversation to pop-up on the appropriate characters but also another thing you can F10 if it still seems stuck. someone else may be able to get back to you with more specific hints about how to unlock though

Thank you for this, although I still have this problem when my Switch is docked and I’m playing on a TV. The text in bubbles from shades is very small and I delight in reading them, but often miss them. Hopefully in the future the length of time the bubble stays visible increases or the font size may be increased.

I'm not sure if this goes here but my adamant rail pact of punishment seems to be glitched or something, I was on heat like 20 or something and after I beat that run, the pact says bounties available at 0 heat which is not true and I cant seem to make it go away

switch: does the "backstab" notification go away after a few runs? i can't tell if i'm not doing any backstab damage (usually pretty easy with ||spear|| special) or if i'm just not getting a notification for it. i don't think i could see a noticeable difference in damage, or maybe its just in my head. i do have ||"breaching skewer"|| active, if that affects it

Hi all i was playing a game of hades and i went to do a run and quit to restart because i didn't have the right keepsake, went to go click on my saved profile and it said i had 0 darkness i was confused, clicked it told me something had gone wrong with the saved file, was asked to follow those instructions I did but it didn't work, i then checked on this discord saw the hades tech fixes tab followed it too. @thick lava Hi! I'm forwarding you this problem since you were the one who dealt with additional characters in font previously. So with the v1.0 launch we have looked at the files again and saw that the some of the characters are not shown properly in-game at "Languages" menu. I'm including screenshots where it's supposed to read "ÜüÖöİiIıŞşÇçĞğ".
In main menu and other places (as far as we can see) the fonts are okay except the capitalization problem of i to I but that's okay for now.
The fonts in "Languages" menu seem to lack these characters though. I've checked the font name and here it is:

On macOS I have a reproducible bug:
While the game is in fullscreen if I use the hotkeys to take a screenshot [Command]+[Shift]+[4] (or + [Space] for a fullscreen) my character then continually runs to the lower left as if I'm holding down the [A] & [D] keys.
Swiping between desktops and also activating the menu doesn't appear to immediately fix it, though eventually some combination of those corrects the problem and I'm able to continue playing.

I played for over 30 hrs with no issues, but the game crashed recently near the middle of the run. Now when I start the game it goes to a black screen and the bug reporter opens up. Hey guys. About to jump in the game for the very first time but ended up unable to boot it on Steam. Through Supergiant's troubleshooting guide, I'm able to boot it outside of Steam following this instruction.
If you're still having trouble getting the game to start, please try running the .EXE file outside of Steam or the Epic Games Store while in Admin mode.
Initially a pop-up says a D3DCompiler_47.dll file is missing. I added one in myself and alas its running.
My question is, will booting the game this way affects achievement unlocking on Steam? I still cannot boot it via Steam afterwards, and Steam Library isn't showing it is 'running' Hades. Anyways, sorry for the trouble and congratulations on the game.

Hi, I have a small complaint/question regarding available resolutions for ultrawide displays. In fullscreen mode with native resolution the game displays some cute graphics to fill out the black space outside the 16:9 area. That's fine, but for windowed mode it would be nice to be able to select a 16:9 resolution with the same vertical pixel count as my native res, so I can use the rest of the horizontal space for something else. For example on my 3440x1440 display, I would have Hades in a 2560x1440 window and discord or something off to the side. 1920x1080 is available, 2560x1080 as well, but not 2560x1440. Does the game not support this resolution, or is this just something that hasn't come up yet? (Or maybe I'm just completely blind lol)

Any idea when a patch for switch is coming to fix the audio? Everything seems really quiet, especially the dialogue. I have it cranked up on a stereo system way louder than should be necessary, but the dialogue is still garbled. Everybody sounds like they're under water or I need to pop my ears, so it's slightly disorienting.

This appears to work with the resolutions selectable in the options (like 1920x1080 as in your example), but unfortunately when I try this with 2560x1440 it just switches to 2560x1080 instead. You can see the options I entered with a bit of the border the game uses to fill up the rest of the missing pixels from 16:9 to 21:9. This is a bit surprising, because the game can do 2560x1440... Just with an added border, so it's actually 3440x1400. 😄
I hope my description is actually understandable with all those numbers thrown in.

Gotcha, alright - I've heard here and there that Switch audio is low but never that it's outright garbled or poor quality, though on PC/Mac some players have reported static or sound cutoffs when the in-game volume sliders are down

@dim spruce Hey, so I did some experimentation and I found out, that I had to add a 2560x1440 resolution through my GPU driver, so the game lists it as an option. Presumably it pulls this list from the same place that Windows gets it. I can use this as a workaround, though I'd prefer it if I could set it via the steam launch options, so I don't have to agree to a EULA in my GPU driver, just to add a resolution that I don't want to use anyway lol. Even better would be if the game implemented resizing the window dynamically, though I imagine that would be a lot more work. I can totally understand that the game only lists resolutions that the system advertises as available, at least for the fullscreen setting.

@dim spruce Okay, this is a bit embarassing now after I already got so far, but if I set it to 2560x1440 in windowed mode, I can't actually move the window anywhere (even using the trick to right click the thumbnail preview in Windows and selecting 'move...') and it's in the middle of my screen... Since it will always default to a centered position upon switching resolutions or startup, it's pretty firmly stuck there. I can't make it 2560x1400 or something so I can see the title bar, because my driver refuses to add a resolution that's incompatible with my display (even though I don't want to actually use it). 🤔
Do you have some cool trick to set the window coordinates as a hidden startup option or something? 👀

Do I have to just hard reset? I think that kills my save, right?

Hey people ! Just got Hades yesterday on Steam 🙂 I installed it but game won't launch. I already deleted the game and reinstalled it. I also checked all my drivers was up to date and did all differents troubleshoots in #h1-tech-fixes but game still won't launch. I tried to start the game from its folder directly and got the error "D3DCompiler_47.dll is missing" either for the x64 or x86 folders.
Do you have any idea to solve this problem ?

Hey, has anybody had crashes recently on Switch? I've had it a bit with other games too, so it might just be me, but crashes have definitely happened more on Hades
Specifically when I went into Charon's shop at the end of Elysium, and going into the final battle with REDACTED

Heey, for some reason my game drops to like 2 frames per minute after unlocking Orpheus. I started a new game to see if it was the save file, but the same thing happened. Unsure what to do. Don't have any performance issues at all, and if I manage to walk to a different room/ get Orpheus off my screen the issues are barely there, only making transferring between rooms last 20+ seconds.

I'm a bit confused about reload (Switch version). I click r as instructed by the guide thing in the upper left corner, but it doesn't reload? Regardless of how many bullets I have left it doesn't do anything. R works normally for everything else and I checked in settings that it's mapped correctly. Is this a known issue?

Hey people! I'm playing Hades on an iMac through Epic Games Launcher and have 2 issues to report:

Upon quitting the game from the main menu screen (either by mouse or controller), the game freezes and must be force closed.

Since release day, up until today, my PS4 controller (wired) was showing up as such in the game, but as of today, all the prompts are shown as an xbox controller. There seems to be a fix for that on steam, but from what I can tell not on Epic Games Launcher.

I'm experiencing a weird bug where I can't scroll left or right in the Music Stand. Only up and down.
I'm using the joy stick and d-pad on a controller, and I tried the left and right arrow keys on my keyboard as well.
I've tried opening and closing the music stand
I've tried moving between various rooms
- I can use the mouse to select from a different column, and it seems to switch between the left and right columns based on where my mouse is on the screen.

had some time to play after the update that addresses the mac freezing issue
it's better, i think, but not entirely fixed, although i don't know how much of that is simply because my computer is old
it's just more rare now, before it used to happen every few minutes and now it maybe happens once or twice every floor, which is a big improvement

I genuinely apologize if i should not be posting this question here and if i shouldn't have you can delete it but i really think this is a bug and not some mechanic im missing but ill put in spoiler tags just in case,|| issue is that i have maxed out dusa's hearts and ive at least given meg 2 ambrosia and usually once you have given a character 1 ambrosia you get the "bond forged" banner and you get a special symbol for that character that appears on their trinkets, but i havent gotten that for either of those characters even tho i have it for everyone else ive done that with|| ive also reported as a bug in game aswell

There are additional events with each of those characters after you finish filling out their heart bars. Those followup events are what actually define the "bond forged" moments.

(switch) ok after trying to test a little today, i am able to see backstab with sword but not spear. i am trying to test on wretched thug and wretched lout. i'm pretty sure the spear special should show backstab (going there or coming back), but it doesn't (unless i'm aiming really bad). anyone else on switch experiencing this? or at least seen backstabs with spear special? i couldn't test other weapons because i am bad at getting behind the enemy and i don't think skelly shows backstabs 😛 i also couldn't figure out if it shows the backstab notification less after you're a few hours in to the game

I guess this is sort of my fault, but after FINALLY getting out again, 20-something attempts after my first victory, I realized I forgot to ||get the keepsake from persephone|| so I panicked and tried quitting the game by going to the main switch menu and hitting x to close... and I lost the entire run and everything. my victory, the resources I earned... the entire record of the run 😭😭😭😭 super bummed

Hi, I'm not the best with Discord. I was lead here through the in game link. Sorry if I'm asking something that has already been addressed. I have been playing with my PS4 controller with no issues for a couple days. Today I noticed a minor update when launching through Steam and noticed the in game controls when I click on the controls option from the main menu show the PS4 buttons but after loading my save they switch to Xbox controls. I have never used an Xbox controller so the buttons are not intuitive to me when it prompts them. Until today it was flawless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yeah, it was as the conversation with persephone was ending and zag started dying. my guess is that it got interrupted while trying to record the totality of the run and didn't know what to do on restart. normally if I do that in a chamber, for example, usually when I forget to give nectar to one of the other characters, it loads back up at the start of the chamber.
I figure it's worth mentioning, but it's obviously my fault. "I quit the program while it was trying to save and lost data" is exactly the sort of thing customers do that drives me crazy, so I can hardly fault someone else when I decided to go and do that 😒

So I tested this update. Great improvement. I did not experiences freezing during any encounters neither when I had to choose a boon.
Nonetheless, the game is still freezing in the room after the boss fight. Wether I'm looking at the trinket or at the different wells or just dashing around. It is a freeze that doesn't seem to unfreeze itself. But unless this, now the game is way more playable on my mac with Intel Iris 1536 Mo. (similar as what @lofty vault experience)

Don't know if anyone else has seen this, but I have a bug where my codex isn't showing new entries? I think it might just be for fishing but I have the achievement for catching one fish in every region but i only have 3 fish in my codex
it will still give me the pop up saying I have a new entry but if I hold c it just doesn't show anything new. I've cought at least 3 fish types that aren't there

Hello, I have the issue with auto saves not working. I made the save folder not read-only, as well as ran it in admin mode.
Oh I just noticed that the Read-only box doesn't stay unchecked. After every application of attribute changes, when I open the properties it is set to Read-only again.

I'm also looking at Bitdefender's false positives submission, hopefully if I can clear Hades with them it will be added to a global whitelist and this might be less of a problem 😅 so if you find the "Detection name", could you screenshot it or otherwise let me know what it is? This is what their website says:

I know you added the documents folders and stuff already, Hades.exe is the actual executable - should be in \Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Hades\x64 on Steam, or \Program Files\Epic Games\Hades\x64 on Epic

I have been reading this thread about Freezing ingame but I am not 100% sure that it describes what I am experiencing so I post it here. I sometimes get the display stoping, yet the game is still playing in background (I can hear Zagreus moving and responding to my inputs, but the display doesnt change). I dont know if this is what people experience as well when they say Freez.
I am on version 1.36090, on a MacPro Retina under Catalina.
