This is pretty minor, but if a charcter had (!) Dialogue, and I gift them nectar / ambrosia before I start the (!) dialogue, I have to walk away from the charcter and walk back to them before the prompt to hear the (!) dialogue is active again.

Just read through the tech-fixes post, doesn't seem to address my issue.
I'm on a Macbook and the game runs pretty smoothly for about 10 seconds before it freezes. I can still hear my character responding to my inputs but the graphics are not responding. After about 10 seconds it unfreezes and the whole cycle repeats itself. Is there a thread on this?

not eyesight. i may just be used to small font size from some other things 😛 but an option for larger text wouldn't hurt. i think some other people have also requested it so they may be looking into it already

I've been playing the game since the early days of early access and never once started a new save. I always had this last keepsake locked and for the life of me couldn't figure out whose it was. So I did a quick google today and found out my keepsakes list is also out of order it seems, and the last one which is locked doesn't even exist? I hope this doesn't break my game but is there a way to somehow fix this?

Hello! I have an issue where the sound kinda stutters sometimes, which I've noticed doesn't happen as much when I turn on vsync, but when I have vsync on, the game slows down/FPS starts dropping in some rooms.
I think this became an issue in the Blood Price update, but I didn't play the game as much back then, so I only recently started noticing this pattern.

Alright, that's why you can't get into controlled folder access - it's actually disabled if you have a third party antivirus

Yeah I ended up copying my Saved Games folder, disconnecting the Documents folder from OneDrive*, and then slapping the Saved Games folder back in Documents on that drive.
*This will trap all your files from that folder in OneDrive just fyi, but you can retrieve those files from the internet so they’re not gone.

@mossy plover Unfortunately, cross-saves haven't been implemented yet, so there's no way to transfer save files from computer to Switch. We're aware of a bug that may be what you described here: https://www.reddit.com/r/HadesTheGame/comments/ixjcyk/lost_save_after_giving_up_on_switch/
We're working on a patch for Switch and hope to have it out soon, though not sure if this issue specifically will be fixed there since we're still investigating.

I had a bug on the nintendo Switch version of the game with Patroclus where the subtitle of his dialogue the black box surrounding the text was much bigger and the text was completly bugged inside it, Not a major bug cause it disapeared when he stopped talking but just posting it to inform you.

Hello team, I'm having some issues with xbox360 controller input for the Epic Games version on PC. I unplugged the controller during a run and after plugging it back in, half the controller doesn't seem to register during gameplay (but I can open the Codex properly, and the entire controller works in menus and such). Using the launch commands for mouse and input troubleshooting lets me use my K&M controls for gameplay after startup, but plugging the controller back in puts me back at square 1. Any advice?

Yes, I tried it with Bastion and it was working fine
I'm not sure if this would help, but after I plugged my controller back in the first time and the issues emerged, I attempted to remap dash on the K&M controls and was having input issues there as well. Now, with the controller plugged in, if I launch the game even with the launch commands, I can't use dash/cast/etc in gameplay with the K&M controls
The K&M input issues didn't crop up until I tried remapping (cleared a room after dash stopped responding)

Hi, I hope I'm not interrupting anything!
Sometimes (rarely) when I start the game it gets stuck at 60 fps. But not normal 60 fps, it feels extremely sluggish, as if the frame times are really inconsistent. Normally the game runs at 144 fps (vsync on, without vsync easily 500 fps or so). This happens rarely, but when it happens it's really annoying and the only way for me to fix it is to restart my computer. I don't have issues with any other game. RTX 2080, I5-8600k, 16 GB RAM, Windows 10. Game is currently running in this state btw!

have you tried resetting your controls back to default in the Settings? or you could also try going here:
\Documents\Saved Games\Hades*
and deleting* Profile1.sjson** and** Profile1.ctrls**
(these are you settings files not your save progress)

@wide canyon I checked your bug report - in order to unlock Legendary Aspects, you're missing a handful of conversations with Achilles. They're all pretty easy to get, and you only need one of them, so you can probably just throw a few runs away to get them quickly. If you made a lot of progress quickly, it's likely they just got backed up behind more plot-central convos.
As for the administrative chamber, I'm pretty sure you just haven't done enough runs yet to have seen the flashback that unlocks it.
@quaint sky Your favor with Hypnos isn't bugged, but you are still very early in the required subplot. Doing more runs probably is the answer here!

@sharp narwhal Thanks for your reply. I have done 24 runs of which I finished 11 or 12, seems unreasonable, no? I mean it seems like I should get access before I completely finish the game not after, it's one of the most common achievements.
But if you are sure, I can try to finish a few more times I guess, it's just like I feel I will unlock everything after I am kinda done with the game. 😦

Achilles has a lot of main storyline conversations that can outprioritize the lower level convos needed for Legendary Aspect unlocks; it's very possible for them to get backed up if you started clearing super early and got very far on each run

You need more conversations between Hypnos and Thanatos, so if you haven't been seeing him on runs or if he's been getting pulled away for other convos, that'd be doing it

@quaint sky Not sure there's a way to "make" them talk, unfortunately, other than trying to see Thanatos. There isn't a way to force him to show up but if you prioritize regular combat rooms (not Trials of the Gods, not Chaos/Erebus, not shops) your chances are statistically speaking better.

@tight lagoon Sorry about this. There's a few more things you should try in #h1-tech-fixes. Be sure to check the section about OneDrive and Windows Defender, as they are both known to cause problems saving

@quaint sky No, the conversations he gives you won't be on runs - those will still be generic - they'll just be back at the House. There's not any "certain number" of times you have to see him to trigger more House conversations, it's just RNG when you get back.

@tight lagoon Can you tell me what the file size is of your Profile1.sav file in \Documents\Saved Games\Hades ? It should be a few KB. If it's 0 bytes your save might actually be corrupt. In that case, I would restore from the backup save (.bak version)

@tight lagoon If you're absolutely positive that McAfee is uninstalled (and not running in the system tray), it's possible the save games folder is still set to read-only. Not sure if a bug or not, but on my Switch file, Orpheus says the same line to me most times I speak to him, which seems weird considering nobody else does this. The line is “I hope the fates don’t ruin all your dreams as they did mine.” (Or something very similar, I forgot to screenshot it)

It's possible. If you're clearing rooms pretty quickly, and you have google drive syncing your saved games folder (or, probably you entire /Documents/ folder) it's possible the two processes are fighting over the save file

@leaden junco The only reason I can imagine a newer save would get overwritten by an intact, much older save is if something is set up to cloud sync with your save files or your documents folder. If you have OneDrive sync set up, for example; it's also possible Steam sync downloaded older saves
@molten olive There's a bug with how the priority system works with some "miscellaneous" conversations like that; it's fixed on Mac/PC but isn't fixed on Switch, will theoretically be addressed once we can get a Switch patch out

@thick lava Earlier, tried to reproduce it after I learned about F10 without any luck, so I'll post it here if that's okay. The gates and statues here don't turn translucent when near them. You can see I'm in battle. They turn transparent every other time I've been there. I tried moving away and moving back, but it persisted for that one room. This is on PC.

OK, yeah there are instructions in #h1-tech-fixes on how to add an exclusion for Hades' save folder to Windows Defender (I'd probably start with McAfee though)
The main thing is to make sure \Documents\Saved Games\Hades is excluded from Controlled Folder Access, and that your antivirus isn't trying to sandbox Hades.exe

Hello, i've played with the Hexagryphe. It happened very often while spamming the A Spell (Technique?) that maybe 0.5s/1s before touching the ground, the circle just teleport on me. I've lost a run after 4 hits from this bug while i was playing the benefits +300% dmg. And it look common when i play!

Also got my save game file corrupted on switch. Same issue as others are reporting it seems. I have a question if I do start over and want to avoid the issue. I have heard to make sure I have 1 rank in each available talent. What if I don't have enough darkness to afford it?

I'm having possible issues with my save after the switch crashed, but I'm not sure if it's related to the recent save file corruption bug because I was able to load the save.
I walk out of the blood pool, talked to most people in the house (meg, hypnos, orpheus, cerberus, achilles, thanatos), then the switch crashes. (Error 2162-0002) I manage to turn the switch back on, reload the save to when zag is leaving the blood river, all dialogue same except for orpheus and thanatos. They repeat lines they said a really long time ago, some of which are now inconsistent in context of some plot stuff I've just ran into.

So, unmarked spoilers: the Skelly "unlock" (kill him with Stygius Aspect of Zagreus, at MAX) doesn't seem to trigger for me. We've discussed it a bit over in hades-discussion, and the only thing that might be missing is that I don't have any other Aspects of Stygius unlocked, just Zagreus maxed out. [To be clear: I've had the dialogue with Skelly that gives you the Minor Prophecy; I've since maxed out the Aspect - switching to it gives no special dialogue from him, and neither does killing him with it, even switching between multiple other weapons, running into and out of the room, or even trying a new run and then coming back to him]
However, since the conditions for the Prophecy don't mention needing other Aspects unlocked, this is a bug [either in the trigger or in the wording of the Prophecy]

Aha, no resolved it just now, before I pressed F10: you can make this work by "trying to switch" to a locked Aspect of Stygius, and then explicitly clicking Zagreus again after "failing".
So I think that the trigger is probably tied to the button click...

Hi, I'm having a serious graphics issue that the #techfixes section doesn't seem to fix.
On Macbook Pro mid-2014, Mojave 10.14.6, 16GB ram. Game starts fine, but when playing, every minute or so the visuals freeze (though the game continues). Sometimes I can pause and wait for it to correct itself, then unpause and continue playing. But just as often it permanently freezes the graphics so I have to quit.
Have done latest Mac update, changed fullscreen/v-sync settings, stopped steam overlay, unplugged external display, and changed launch settings, but no improvement.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, me and my bf play on my computer so we were using two saves, but suddenly my progress was on his save and the other save was something older. We deleted those saves and started again and I played a bit and then he played, but just like before his progress went to my save and the saves we had deleted earlier were there again, so yeah, lost my progress twice (tho it wasn't much), any ideas on how we could fix this?

After playing for about 15 hours no problem I now am unable to open game. As soon as I launch it goes not responding. So I've updated my graphics card (nvidia 980ti), verify game files, reinstalled game, signed in/out of steam and restarted pc.

I've been having a persisting model glitch where characters disappear, most notably Thanatos, this is the second time he's glitched on me, and the forth time I've had models go invisible. I was told to press F10 the last time this happened, but I'm on Switch so that is not possible :(

The rest should be unlocking retroactively. Are you playing on EGS or Steam?

Hey, I'd been playing Hades on Switch for around 2 hours, was down in Asphodel, around a room or two before the Bone Hydra. I'd gotten a Poseidon boon but as soon as he finished talking and it went to show me my options, the game crashed.
I haven't had any trouble loading my save (though it has gone back to before the run happened) so it's not the save issue, I don't think. Just wanted to check if this was a known issue?

@slender crane Hey, sorry about that. This is a known issue on the Switch. We're working on a patch right now that should fix it, which we'll release as soon as possible. In the meantime, a potential workaround is to put at least one rank into every Mirror of Night talent you have unlocked. This could help prevent this crash from happening in the future.

I see. I was actually aware of that issue and I'd already done that as a precaution. I've got 40% on Shadow Presence, Max Chthonic vitality, 1 death defiance, and max greater reflex. I don't have the keys currently to unlock the next talents.

It's possible you encountered an audio crash or another of the freezes that are currently still an issue on PC/Mac - I know at least one of them is from our audio middleware so could probably also occur on Switch
It should be a one-off, though if it continues to happen under the same circumstances an engineer may want to get with you and get some more info

@sweet eagle I threw away a few runs on your save file and was able to unlock the Aspect just by talking to Zeus a few more times. I think it'll unlock naturally for you in a couple more runs.

In particular, if you only have Windows Defender and don't have a third-party antivirus (Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, Norton, etc), you'll have access to something called "Controlled folder access", which should be turned off for Hades: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4046851/windows-10-allow-blocked-app-windows-security
OneDrive sync can also interfere with the game's ability to save, as can a faulty or out of sync computer clock/calendar

On Switch, when I encounter Eurydice no music plays. The captions display the lyrics for the song, and I can hear the ambient sound effects of the environment, but no signing. Issue persisted across multiple runs. Is this a known issue?

hi there! I had some issues with the achievements and the report bug (f10) today. I collected all the Keepsakes but the achievement on Steam didn't count. I attempted to login again a few times in the game and gave a quick test, but still nothing with the achievement and when I tried to acess the Report Bug, my game just crashed. @dusty steeple If you make a lot of progress very early in the game, it's possible for the Codex conversation with Achilles to get pushed back by narrative progression. Try throwing away 3-4 runs by dying in Tartarus and it should come up before long.

This is technically the best channel for this, despite this being an issue I learned to fix, rather than an issue I still have.
I was having fps issues with Hades, and nothing in the fps section of #h1-tech-fixes worked.
The fix is simply to go to the computer's settings, then search graphics settings. There, you can choose apps to edit. Use the "browse" thing and find the Hades in steam > steamapps > common > Hades > 64x (not sure what happens when you use the 86x), then Chose the exe in that folder. Set it to "High Performance". The fps issues were fixed the next time I started the game.
Since this isn't already in #h1-tech-fixes, I figured this would be useful to report.
If it matters, I'm using Windows 10 and have a Nvidia graphics card.

When youtube 60 fps is playing on my second screen, hades fps limits to 60 fps, which makes it really stuttery for my 75 hertz screen

I got hades for switch, I have about 25 runs done and at the end of one of my runs instead of taking me back to the start I got the message "the software closed because an error occured". I tried restarting the system and got the same error message. I tried turning on god mode and that got me back in, but only for one run and then when I died I got the same error message. I really do not want to have to erase my save file. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix I can do?
I also checked for corrupted data and it came back clean

@quick reef I don't know what would have affected it, then - saves are stored locally in your Documents, so anything going on with your drive or your machine could have affected them, if you reformatted or deleted a bunch of files. We haven't done anything that would've affected your saves and there aren't any bugs that delete save data, though crashes can sometimes revert it. If you have any sort of sync set up, that can also revert data

@livid gorge Alright, cloud saving wasn't available for Epic prior to 1.0, so there wouldn't be any saves in the cloud before that - you would've needed to upload them beginning with the 1.0 release. The local saves you have from that other computer are probably your best bet if your other saves were lost at some point.

Hey, I'm having sort of a reoccuring issue. The game often stops between rooms to tell me I'm unable to save cause of something. I follow the instructions and manage to keep playing the game for a bit by changing a folder option, but after a while, the folder goes back to its previous setting and causes the can't save problem again. You need to totally disable OneDrive sync on the /Documents/Saved Games/Hades folder

Has anyone else on switch had issues with the x/y/a/b or dpad on joycons/pro controller not working properly? Mine will sometimes hold the buttons (like with shield bull rush if I hold a button and release it just doesn't ever register I released) or the game just stops responding to button presses. At first I thought it was a controller or connection issue but it doesn't seem to be happening with other games. Disconnecting and reconnecting the controllers sometimes works but not always
Occasionally movement with the left joystick is also weird but not as consistently, like I'll keep running in the same direction even if I change the direction I'm pointing the joystick

I'm experiencing a bug I haven't found other reports of. Will report via F10, but checking if there's a known solution: ||I can't pet Cerberus anymore. I'm on my first save, 35 runs total and 1 clear. Sometime before the 20th run, the command to pet Cerberus stopped doing anything. All three commands show up (Talk, Pet, Feed Nectar) when standing next to him, but the Pet command never registers.||

hey so I asked earlier about the switch bug that comes up where you get the error message "the software closed because and error occured" and was told it was a known issue and a patch is in the works but not sure when it is going to be released. I was going to wait for the patch but I just really like the playing the game so much that I was considering starting a new file while waiting for the patch to come out. 2 questions, 1. Do you know if the patch something is likely days/weeks/or months away just to get
a rough estimate. 2. If I start a new file on my switch is there something I can do to avoid the error coming up again? Like I heard it was due to the mirror, so maybe don't upgrade something specific? or don't max out a certain category or something?

OneDrive comes preinstalled on Windows 10, and a lot of the time it interferes with Hades. Google Drive / Dropbox can as well, if you've configured them to sync the Documents folder

Hey, my laptop just bluescreened and restarted while I was in the House of Hades, and when I went back into the game after restarting, my save file had lost like a week of progress (and considering its after 1.0 thats been a Lot of progress). I know that my local save file has been updating consistently because frequently when I have opened the game lately I have to select that I want to use the local file over the cloud file because its more recent, but even the cloud file I know for a fact has updated much more recently than what it just reverted me to. Does anyone know how to possibly fix this short of grinding the last 20 hours of progress again?

So the skulls hades shoots out in the last fight, when they explode have a green ring animation that expands, but in my last fight a couple of them didnt have the ring

How does one gain permission to post in #hades-feedback ? (thank you Ellis for the reply) I'm in a run right now and deflect collision detection is very bugged with the bow's 4th aspect. Specifically, the Attack is passing right through deflectables such as witches' cluster shots, whereas the Special is able to deflect them (I have both Divine Strike and Divine Flourish).

I found a game breaking softlock in the switch port I'll try my best to describe. During the event where Achilles grants you permission to enter Hades personal chamber if you instead start Dusa's final affinity event which teleports you to your room when you get sent back to the main hall all exits become inaccessible. Resetting the game won't fix it because the game saves in the screen transition between your room and the main hall so the save becomes unusable
If there's anything I could have worded better or if you have any questions just about the bug let me know

I just installed the game and all enemies seemed to have invisible idle animations and I submitted an in game bug report. Wanted to put here for reference that afterwards I told steam to verify integrity of game files and that seemed to fix it
So if anyone else gets that problem that fixed it for me

Not sure whats causing it, but I just finished a run (heat 0) on the switch to completion, and the game crashed after the death cutscene, but before returning to base. Tried reloading the same save twice, but it keeps crashing before loading into the base.

Not sure if related, but during the fight whenever Hades would start using his laser attack, he would stop (so it would never come out). I thought it was because I was using the charm boon (even though it didn't proc during those moments), but I didn't really think anything of it during the fight.

Except on PC, and from Hades himself when he starts phase 2
I think it had something to do with the chill debuff. It seems like the ring still goes out but has no color to it?
Skulls seem to inhibit similar behavior

@nova vortex hey, thanks for the report, does it happen every time in that fight or only when you have the chil debuff? Could you hit F10 during a combat where you notice this behavior and submit a bug report? That way we can test using your save game and make our investigation easier

To my memory, only when Hades/skulls have the debuff. I would have to try again. I am not sure if it has to do with a specific stack.
It's happened on two runs so far, so I might be able to reproduce it if I take chill into it and my hunch is correct.
I will see if I can make it happen tomorrow and report it proper if it does.

You won't lose your save files if you uninstall and reinstall the game 🙂 But first, I suggest you try verifying game files in Epic/Steam, that should be faster than reinstalling. Did you experience these freezes since you started playing or did it work fine for a while and then they started happening?

i stood around in the main hall of the house doing nothing for a while, and then went to zag's room
instead of the normal screen transition, somehow it played the transition between asphodel and elysium, including the sound effects, except this time there was no little tracker thing with a dotted line going up, just the sound
