I have only one observation to suggest, on the map of asphodel, in the boss's chamber of the raft of death, while the raft moves and the environment moves along with the river of lava, when we can finish and kill all the enemies and when the raft arrives to the destination, the scenario keeps moving even with the ferry stopped

I'm locked in a room with Patroclus. I picked an upgrade and looked around the room for anything else to action on but there's nothing and the exit's locked. I also cannot give up on the run since all i have is quit as an option, and there are no baddies in the room. I have exited out and gone back in. @rustic umbra This is almost always an issue related to audio. Make sure your audio device isn't disabled, try changing your default audio device, update your audio drivers if you didn't already, and close out of any processes that might be using or affecting your default audio device.
@cloud wren Sorry, no - you don't have to have Epic open or active to play the game, though, if you really dislike the launcher. Hades is DRM free and can be played directly from its .exe file with no issues. Just be sure to launch Epic when there are new patches or major updates so you can have access to those.

@narrow bluff do you have a Logitech mouse? sometimes the management software gets confused which profile to apply and might be applying one (or falling back to internal memory) where the DPI sensitivity is super low

I don't know if this is the correct place to post this (I don't have permission on other threads).
Whenever I have my controller connected to the game wirelessly, if the controller turns off from inactivity (like grabbing a drink or something) it causes the game to hard crash.
I've tried several ways to mitigate the issue with no success.
I can consistently recreate it by:
- load game
- connect controller
- allow controller to die

If they're Gone gone, changing the file names won't help - it means your data has been completely wiped somehow.
Anything affecting your file system or hard drive, like reinstalling Windows, cleaning out your documents folder, etc. would have affected those save files too, since they're stored locally.

@spiral rose might be GPU/driver related. I'm on the same afterburner version and it works for me. I'm on Win 10 with nvidia 442.59 drivers, maxwellv2.
Check that you're on the latest stable release of your GPU drivers from your GPU vendor's website. If you are then use the bug report tool in game.

I see, so you had a conversation with Nyx about the separation order - I assume she gave you instructions to locate it and that you followed them. You may need to finish another run before the contract will show up with the contractor.

I'm using the Epic version. I accidentally deleted the saved games folder (not knowing this was for Hades), started the game and noticed my save was gone. I restored the deleted folder from my recycle bin but my save won't appear now

Probably didn't move it to the correct spot. The folder structure should be C:\Users\(user)\Documents\Saved Games\Hades\(loose files in here)
if it's still gone, you're either missing files that got deleted for good or some file corruption happened.

If there are any .bak files in the directory, you can try renaming them, removing the .bak, overwriting when requested. Otherwise no. you have to start from the beginning

Most games don't have them in program files anymore from Win7 onwards with Microsoft locking down file permissions outside of the user directory by default. Most games keep them in AppData, C:\ProgramData, and a few games that ship only on Steam and use Steam's cloud syncing will save in a userdata directory, which Steam specifically changes the permissions on (against recommendations) to allow this.

Can probably google for trainers or save editors (obviously unsupported), Can probably do some basic value searching with Cheat Engine to find the value as well. Set it to something you want, then get the game to save somewhere. Careful though, there might be minor or major story beats that are linked to darkness numbers or mirror unlocks, which might glitch them so they don't happen. I don't know if this game does or not, but I can see somebody changing the currency behind the game causing unintended problems

hi guys! I'm having troubles keeping steady 60 fps on asphodel and elysium in fullhd. I have no problem running other games like metro exodus and so on but hades somehow hates me. It helps a lot downgrading game resolution to 1680x1050 but then it gets kinda blurry you know. RX 590 win 8.1 i7-3770k. It's just those two worlds. It runs smooth as hell in tartarus though. Already tried all tips from tech-fixes nothing worked

@calm marten your best bet is using the ingame bug report tool so your full system and driver information gets captured and sent. But as somebody who's worked on this stuff in the past, don't get your hopes up. You're working with a double whammy here. AMD on OpenGL on Windows 8.1. AMD's OGL support has been minimal at best and you really have to go out of your way to eke out any sort of shippable performance. And then Win 8.1, which as you said, AMD has abandoned. ontop of the combo of AMD+8.1 users becoming increasingly rare

@torn quail Your save files are located at \Documents\Saved Games\Hades. If you copy that folder somewhere else, delete the copy in \Saved Games, and try starting up the game again does it still give you trouble?
If so, could you do the following:
- Type "Event Viewer" into the Windows search bar, and open the program.
- Once the Event Viewer is open, click the dropdown menu on the left for "Windows Logs", then select "Application"
- Click on the error entries on the right to highlight them and view the details of the error. Look for errors that mention "Hades" or "Hades.exe"
- Hold down Ctrl and then click to select all of the "Error" events related to Hades
- In the Action menu bar at the top of the screen, choose "Save Selected Events". This will create a ".evtx" file that contains all of the errors you highlighted
Send the .evtx file to me via private message here on Discord and I'll take a look at it and see if the error reports provide more information.

@sharp narwhal thank you! I actually was able to recover the game by reinstalling. It seemed as if the game "deleted" after my system crashed, but in reality, everything was there.
I still think there is something bugged with the opening splash screen not fully loading and going straight into the load save file

Oh I thought you had tried reinstalling before? At any rate I'm glad it worked itself out. I'll keep the splash screen in mind, I know in the past it could cause memory problems on the x86 version but we fixed that a while ago.

Cool - my first guess would be your graphics drivers. Do you know what graphics card you have, and how old the drivers are? You can check by typing "DxDiag" in your search bar and clicking to run the program that comes up.

Intel core is your processor - I imagine you probably have both an integrated intel graphics card and a dedicated Nvidia graphics card then? You can't delete a piece of hardware from your computer, though you may have disabled or uninstalled its drivers. You can check Windows Device Manager and it should show you your graphics devices, and from there you can update the drivers, re-enable the card if it's been disabled, etc. This guide may help (ignore the bit about Restoro - just check the instructions for Device Manager): https://windowsreport.com/nvidia-graphics-card-windows-10/

I'm not sure, actually. I don't know of any particular features that are unsupported, though if you use Nvidia Shadowplay do be aware that one of the functions might be bound to F10 by default - which is Hades' bug report key - so you might want to move keybindings around.

@tulip wave Well as i just had a problem by doing this and have read up on it I think i can help you. If you have the game on steam it should save to cloud automatically and you wont have the problem. If you bought it from EPIC store you have to go to "C:/User/Documents/Saved Games/Hades" and from this folder copy the save you want to keep onto a USB or something. Then after u reinstall OS, download the game just replace the them with the saves u now have on your USB. And your save should be there.

@low gorge I looked into your report today about the Orpheus & Eurydice and Nyx & Chaos quests not firing correctly. As far as I can tell on the save that you sent the report from, you've never gotten the conversations with Nyx to begin either her reunion with Chaos, or Orpheus' reunion with Eurydice (although you do have the Musician and Muse quest available from a conversation with Eurydice about reuniting them).
To begin the reunion quest for Chaos and Nyx, (requirements in spoiler tags) ||you'll need to have at least one more relevant conversation with Chaos and then Nyx should have another conversation about it that will unlock a Contractor item related to the quest.||
For Orpheus and Eurydice, ||you need to give Orpheus more gifts, which should then allow that quest to progress. Currently, you've only given him two gifts; he needs several more.||

We've also had some reports that Steam's cloud synchronization can cause partial rollback of save files if you're using it across multiple computers, especially with multiple Hades players using the same machine - I don't know if that might be the case for your files.

Alright - since you have two players on the same steam account, I would recommend disabling it so that your data doesn't get mixed up.

My boon selection screen didn't respond to my controller. I could move my mouse around, and even get the escape menu up, but I could not chose a boon or even highlight any of the options. Was about to end the run before I just spammed all the buttons on my controller. When hitting RB a notification came up from fishing that I was "too late", and everything was fine after this.
I'm assuming there was a fishing spot right next to the boon and my guy started fishing and picked up the boon with the same button press.
Regardless, there was no indication of what was going on at the time and I was very frustrated ^^

Issue I just encountered: Picked up a Poseidon shot boon early on (bonus dmg and knockback), later on got a duo with Poseidon and Demeter (pic related). This one caused the Poseidon boon to stop affecting the shot: no bonus dmg or knockback on either the main shot itself, or the extra side projectiles. So, I sold/purged the original Poseidon one. This caused my shot to revert to the base shot and the duo one no longer has any effect.

Not entirely sure where to put this, so here it goes. While using the bow with the aspect of Chiron, the firing animation for the special is still the same as the regular aspect. Meaning that it spends half the shot time firing non existent projectiles, it kinda makes the aspect less fun to use by essentially halving the damage output from the special. I assume this isn't intentional?

Hi! So, I found something odd while playing. I just bought the Form of Charion for the Heart-Seeking Bow. I did a run to use it for the first time and it had a little bit of a bug. Sometimes both of my clicks wouldn't react and Zagreus would just stand there without reacting. Sometimes it would just stay charging the arrow for a long while.
I took a pic of the abilities that I had during the run.
I did another run with the normal arrow and didn't have any inconvenience. Just if you guys want to see if there might be something happening when you add this abilities or with the arrow itself.

last time this happened I was messing around with Steam Family Share and my save got messed up
but I fixed that and haven't done anything like that since
and it was running fine yesterday
I got it to start when I ran the .exe in admin mode but my controller didn't work
then I got a bug report window that popped up and told me a game file was missing
even though I had already verified installation on Steam
so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game
it still hangs on the first screen
the Early Access message shows up and the music plays but I can't click on anything
I also rebooted my computer
sometimes it doesn't even load all the way in, it freezes during the loading animation

Yesterday I encountered a bug during the first Boss Fight, and only later found out about the report-a-bug-feature. I, however, took a screenshot and wanted to ask whether I could somehow send that one to you.
The Bug itself is not huge and affected the gameplay to almost no degree, however eliminating Bugs is one of the objectives of Early Access.
This might not be the right channel for it, but...
Bug summary: Megaeras Dash-Attack ended up creating a (visual-only) copy of her in the bottom left corner of the chamber, that remained there for the rest of the fight.

I just bought the game today, and I can't get past the first room. As soon as I collect Athena's blessing, Zag has time to say "Thank-" and then my whole game crashes and closes out. @steady marlin That's the normal way that the Bounty system works. You have to clear a run at a certain Heat level or higher in order to move up to the next Heat level and get more rewards. If you've only been clearing the first 3 bosses, then you won't be able to get more rewards just by raising your Heat.
@grave urchin We're currently working on a large code-base overhaul for the game focused on improving its compatibility with many different graphics cards and setups - that's one of the main goals of the current update cycle, in order to prepare for the 1.0 launch sometime this year. @steel palm Have you had any more crashes like that? This looks like a random or one-off graphics-related crash to me, though if you're experiencing them really frequently, I'd like to hear more.
@wispy sleet I'm pretty sure that's intentional stylized highlighting - if you look in dark areas in other parts of the game, you can see similar small lines and flecks of bright color. You can see them in some spots in character portraits too - it's part of the art direction.

@frosty tiger .dmp files are sometimes saved to Users \ [your name]\AppData\Local\CrashDumps, though they likely aren't interpretable on their own. Windows also creates error logs in the Event Viewer, where you can find them under Windows Logs > Application on the left-hand menu.
There's a DebugLog in your Documents\Saved Games\Hades\ folder but it's unlikely to have much information.

My screen often freezes for ~1 sec just as I'm clearing a room, taking damage, . . . I thought it was my GPU or driver at first; but I've upgraded from a GTX 660 to a RX 590 now, and it still happens sometimes (though the freezes aren't as long as they were before).

If you still have the gtx, install it and play hades on it. AMD have very bad OpenGL driver and sadly the game is written in the API
If you don't have the gtx. Turn off vsync and turn on AntiLag in radeon settings

It happened on the GTX before, so that definitely won't help. It runs much better on the RX 590. V-Sync is off and anti-lag is on. I get 132~144 fps in the game.

@sharp narwhal Thanks for the reply. How is error reporting conducted then if the game itself doesn't use any such logs? I have had two issues that the game would just close itself and I was wondering what the cause might have been. There are also heavy stutters from time to time, often in the first minute of entering a new room, which gives the impression that the performance is bad, but that might be related to shaders. I'm not on Windows but playing via Proton.

There are a number of things that it could've been, including the fact that you're playing on Proton, which the game isn't explicitly designed and tested to be compatible with at the moment.
The game does create crash logs - as stated there are sometimes .dmp files in AppData, and Windows keeps track of application errors, which work well enough to diagnose problems coming from within the game itself. If an outside application is causing the game to force-quit, that won't show up in crash logs for the game. Windows Error Reporting summaries collected by DxDiag.exe may also contain information about the crashes, though it's unlikely to be more detailed than the Event Viewer logs.
Since you're not on Windows, I can't really tell you where crash logs might be being created. If Proton creates error logs, you may want to check logging for that, or otherwise look at the usual locations where logs or crash reports are stored in Linux.

I had using Proton with Hades and the only experience was that whole Linux freeze for me for unknown reason. But later I discovered that it does also while not playing Hades on Proton. My reason to play under Linux was AMD OpenGL driver and I guess I had using too old Kernel version for My 2500U laptop.

@sharp narwhal The wineprefix just needed the latest dotnet48 version, that basically fixed the issue. Got a much better performance (no stuttering, much higher fps) with regular Lutris-Wine instead of Proton. Just an FYI.

So I first downloaded and played Hades on my laptop, and did a couple runs, then afterwards I started playing on my PC wherein I clocked in about 4.5 hours. When I went tried playing in my laptop again however, the save file is still that of the one with only a couple runs.
I thought Hades was backed by cloud saving on Steam? Or did I do something wrong by playing on my laptop first, so the save file there couldnt be overwritten?

@toxic halo Scrubbing your RAM is a pretty uncommon fix; in the months I've been doing this, I've only run into 2 people with memory problems, both of which were fixed with Windows tools. We try to keep the solutions on the FAQ general, covering problems that players frequently have and which are easily fixed; more complex issues are addressed by me or an engineer walking through the problem via email or another forum.
I'm glad they got their game running in the end!

@rain mason It's known that AMD cards sometimes don't play as nice with Hades as other cards; this is something we're hoping to improve, along with general compatibility. For now, adjusting your GPU settings - turn off Vsync, turn on (or off) AMD anti-lag - may help.

So an odd thing I keep running into, whenever I run into Tiny Vermin and kill it, music stops on the floor until leaving the temple to fight hades
If I were to wager a bet I'd say it's because Tiny Vermin is treated as a true boss as opposed to other encounters, and bosses stop the music once defeated. Normally you can't just continue the floor after beating a boss, but tiny vermin is the exception, so the game isn't sure what to do until running into the hades bossroom

it since it crashes and freezes. I didn't have this problem when I was using mouse and keyboard but I started getting it when I was using my controller.
it's done this twice before, but once was in the house so I didn't mind and the other was just a couple encounters into a run so I didn't mind then either.
Actually, I'm like 75% sure the crash is cause I had DS4 open (thought i closed it). I'll keep playing with controller without DS4 open and see how it goes.

I randomly get the Bug Reporter and after i close it or send a report (which i already sent), it reopens again immediatly and won't let me play again since it blocks the entire game. Okay I found the issue for the mouse thing, the macro I made doesn't have delay beetwin keydown and keyup, that was messing it up

Hi all, I'm loving the game so far but sadly I kept getting random moments where my game freezes and then it tells me to either wait or close the program. The sound still continues to play. I've got the latest drivers, I've set the launch options, turned steam overlay off, verified integrity and they didn't solve the problem. Installing the latest version of Visual C++ did seem the solve the problem.

Game Crash: in Elysium, upon finishing a Trove, at the exact point where the final kill goes slo-mo, the game froze, went dead silent, then a cacophonous, glitchy burst of hellish audio erupted through my speakers before the game crashed and I was staring at my desktop. Was using Aspect of Chaos and had just killed a ton of enemies at once.
Bug: in Asphodel, using Aspect of Chaos, a Bull Rush followed by a Special caused Zagreus to disappear from the screen entirely. He reappeared upon moving the left analog stick. Could not replicate.

Just tried again after verifying. Goes to a pure white screen. Only way to get out of it is hitting Esc. I briefly saw the same error message as above before it closed the game entirely.
This happened the first time the other day too.

So after a random amount of time, the bug reporter pops up, and usually while i'm fighting so i'm only pressing wasd and left click. After i close the game in the task manager, as soon as i launch the game right after the loading screen, the Bug reporter blocks everything
The only way to stop this is unistalling and reinstalling the game but then again the issue persists

Alright - well all of the error reporting and everything from the game and from your computer is clean, so I suspect it's something else you have hooked up having a strange interaction with Hades. If you're able to figure out what device or driver caused it let me know so I can look into it more

Maybe unplugging any USB devices except your mouse and keyboard could help you troubleshoot. I've had weird issues like that before.

- Hold down Ctrl and then click to select all of the "Error" events related to Hades
- In the Action menu bar at the top of the screen, choose "Save Selected Events". This will create a ".evtx" file that contains all of the errors you highlighted

- Attach both the .evtx (error log) file and the DxDiag.txt (DxDiag results file) to an email and send it to us!

I don't know if this is the right spot for it, but I figured I'd check. I just unlocked the orpheus contract last night and went to look at it in the contractor menu. It's present, but it says it's already been purchased, even though I only just got it from the administration room. Does this prevent it from being purchased and continuing the quest line?

There are two contracts - one ||ends Orpheus' term of imprisonment in Tartarus||, one ||waives the separation order between him and Eurydice||. If you started playing the game before...October 2019 or so, you probably never actively "purchased" the first contract, and it was instead added to your purchased work orders retroactively since it's now part of the requirements for Orpheus to appear.

You need to do a run or so after fetching it before it will show up with the Contractor for purchase

There are a number of things that can cause screen freezes - you can see one person there fixed it by switching to dedicated graphics. The Steam overlay can cause screen freezing, certain graphics cards have an interaction with certain parts of the game that can cause screen freezing, it could be a monitor issue like it sounds like you may be having, etc.

Hey, I'm having trouble starting Hades. I've tried most of the options on the tech fixes menu, but every time I try to start the game, I get a little screen that says "preparing to run first time setup" or something like that, and then it goes away. After that, it looks like it's going to start, because the logo shows up on my toolbar, but then it just goes away. For context, I'm trying to play on a windows partition of a 2013 macbook air. Maybe that's just the problem in and of itself?

Theoretically as long as your partition has access to enough RAM and disk space, and has the proper windows drivers and runtimes installed, it shouldn't work any differently than standard Windows

So, yesterday I faced a bug where the screen was flashing continuously and all the inputs - keyboard keys, mouse, ps4 controller were unresponsive to the input within the game.
I relaunched the game and submitted a report by pressing F10. Is there something else I can do like looking for logs similar to above or do you think its a one off bug?

Hi, sadly I keep getting random moments where my game freezes and then it tells me to either wait or close the program. The sound still continues to play. I've got the latest drivers, I've set the launch options (borderless), turned steam overlay off, verified integrity and they didn't solve the problem. I thought installing the latest version of Visual C++ solved the problem, but i've crashed numerous times again after that. Once I've crashed I also have troubles running the game again. Any suggestions? I also haven't got an integrated graphics chip. Thanks

I know some folks do that in order to make the chamber number show all the time in the top corner of the screen. We'll have a fix for this lock in the next major update; for now you can avoid it by refraining from using the boon menu key to pull up the chamber number before the next encounter has fully loaded.

It's probably quarantining Hades.exe and the save and config files in \Documents\Saved Games\Hades. Add Hades.exe and all the files in the Hades save folder to the scanning exclusions list

Hello! I am not sure I met the minimum system requirements, but the game was playing fine for about 25 minutes. Then the graphics glitched and froze while the game and sound kept going. I turned it off and back on, but now I have a black screen with the cursor in the center, however I can still hear the game running. Any ideas?

@fading gull There's currently a compatibility issue with Intel HD graphics 500 and 600 series cards that causes the 1080p resolutions to freeze. We're working on better tech compatibility as part of this current update cycle; for now, playing in 720p resolutions, windowed mode, may resolve the issue

I know windowed is an option, with the desktop set to x720, but seeing the game cut off, and a stripe of the desktop is distracting which I can't find a way around.

Changing name on Epic is not related to missing progress
the game keeps save files on Documents, no matter if you run it from Epic or Steam or directly from *.exe file.
So you had to turn the game off while it was saving the progress (what caused to save corruption) or remove somehow the saves in Documents.

Quick question regarding Steam Cloud save syncing: I notice that the game is very diligent about syncing the game save states, but only when you're at the House of Hades. I have yet to get the game saves to sync when a run is in progress. Is this intentional behaviour?

I have a RX 590. My only issues are occasional freezes when getting hit, clearing rooms, etc. But they're aware of those.
Otherwise my fps is 130~144 everywhere.

Yours is faring better than mine. I have fps as low as 20. The biggest offender is the Hydra fight, or when Trippy Shot cloud exists.

Hey @fading gull Thanks for asking! It's likely that you're experiencing some lag in the gameplay. Lagging can happen when a system is having a hard time displaying all the action on screen in real time. We're currently working on optimizing the game for this next update (coming sometime in June), which may address some of those! It's not uncommon to get light lag when the screen is especially filled with enemies or their projectiles. 👍
@deft zinc If you feel like your game may be bugged, you can press while playing to pull up our bug reporter and describe the issue. I'm not aware of any issues we're having with the Rod of Fishing, so a missed trigger is possible, but if it persists please don't hesitate to submit a report.

There is no cloud saves on Epic. You need to move the save from Documents/Saved Games/Hades to your new PC

I'm getting frequent but seemingly arbitrary freezes of up to 1 second during gameplay, even for very simple things like fishing or crossing an empty room. I'm running on a Ryzen 5 3600, RTX 2070S, 16GB RAM and M.2 SSD so I'm confident the computer isn't struggling and my FPS counter always shows between 130 and 144fps the whole time. Some days it barely happens and other times it happens every few chambers. I've heard others mention it from time to time. Salomon. I do not think you benefit from 60+ Hz in the game. Set it to hard 60 vsync. And it will be more smooth.
This is because the animations are basically videos and will not scale with higher frame rate.

Just changing on the windows settings, press the sound device, change default device. It takes whatever the default device is at launch only for me, try to swap it.. nothing happens unless I reset the program

I know the devs have said the game has some issues with AMD, and I tried adjusting the settings for both the x64 and x86 versions but the results haven't been consistent; sometimes it returns to smooth operation, sometimes it suddenly lags again. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything, so I was wondering if there's any update on how I might be able to mitigate this?

There is no cloud saves on Epic. You need to move the save from Documents/Saved Games/Hades to your new PC

So I hear this game does support 21:9, but the ultrawide resolutions aren't showing up in the settings menu for me -- any suggestions? Suspect this might be to do with I installed the game initially with a normal 16:9 one, but who knows

Edit: Alt tabbing a few times let me hit escape and get past it. It seems that the game is not fully optimized for the controller, as there's menus where the controller cannot properly navigate through to each possible option. Should be able to use controller to go left, right, up, down, diagonally, etc but its not built for that 😦

Xbox controller keeps disconnecting, usually when leaving or entering room, attempting to converse, or when given an option to select boon, upgrade, etc. Usually Zagreus stays still, but it has also forced me to keep running right into lava and cost a death defiance before I could plug and unplug the controller. Will probably try playing with a different controller later, but as controller is new. I'm not sure what the problem is. Switch controller worked fine last time I played with it.

Hey folks, I'm having the same AMD issue I saw mentioned in tech-fixes and that other players have reported in here. I've tried adjusting my settings to minimal effect. I still get visual lag that gets worse the longer the game has been running, and in the rooms with several of the specters that shoot lots of the purple orb projectiles (I forget their name) it drops to single digit FPS and if I'm not able to keep the sprite count down by killing them quickly enough, the game will completely crash.
I was wondering if I could post a screenshot here of my AMD card settings for Hades to make sure I've changed everything the way I'm supposed to? Thanks for your help!

It's not SGG fault. Previous games ware not such fast, as even Bastion was a lot slower than Hades. Now when Hades is Hack and slash, fast action the framerate matter. Also OpenGL API worked better on older AMD cards than current one. And the API is the issue on current AMD cards.

Hi, I just bought hades. The game runs fine on 1080p resolution but after experiencing some FPS issues I changed to 720p resolution. The game launched fine for about 2-3 times, after that it's just stuck on a black screen. I can hear the sound and all. It works when I set launch options to run as 1080p, but whenever I select 720p Fullscreen option in the game it just freezes or goes black. Is there a solution to this? And yes, my graphics drivers are updated to the latest version.
Basically 720p fullscreen freezes the game or doesn't let it start.

hey all, im trying to nail down why my game keeps freezing. I've already reinstalled epic/ hades, the only antivirus i have is windows defender which i checked that it has the folders excluded, and I made sure there is no in game overlays actrive like nvidia or discord. anyone else have any tips? freezes random during runs usually in the first 5 minutes.

Hi there! I feel I'm stuck in the quest to progress my relationship with Skelly. I gave him (it?) all the possible nectar and now the next hearth is locked. The only prophecy I have regarding Skelly is 'The Useless Trinket' that seems unrelated. Please note that I also have not yet completed a run with Stygian Blade, not sure if this matters. In any case, I'll keep talking to him (even if in the codex it says 'Learn more by deepening your relationship with Skelly' instead of the usual 'having conversation with')

Your save file is located at Documents\Saved Games\Hades. You should be able to just copy the entire folder over to the same directory on another computer and use the saves with no issue

Hey all I'm new here. Someone posted a saved game editor on Reddit called "Pluto". It apparently allows people to edit the number of items they have in the game. In all honesty the grind is getting annoying and I want to mainly focus on the storyline of the game. All graphics in the game are pre-rendered, and as such the quality can't be adjusted on the fly without pre-rendering multiple batches of the same animations and VFX at lower and lower resolutions and packaging them with the game.
Adjusting the resolution settings and switching into windowed mode are the graphics options that are available; you can also check your computer's GPU settings to make sure you're using "high performance" mode to run the game, if you have one.
Our current update cycle is also heavily focused on performance and improving both the game's speed and its compatibility with a wider variety of setups, so if your machine is struggling with the game now, hopefully after the coming major update, you'll see a significant boost in performance.

Do the staff know how heavy the Asphodel intro room is? I hate that room and beeline for the door because the frame rate gets stuttery there, lol. I suspect the particle effects (failing ash?) because I don't see them anywhere else. Is there a way to turn those off?

Possible bug report: I've gifted Skelly the maximum number of Nectars, and maxed out the Aspect of Zagreus sword, and completed the game several times (heat 3) with the sword. Skelly won't advance his quest, and just says, "Go on Boy-o, give me your best shot" if I talk to him. No options past that. Am I missing something, or should I send my save file in to check for a bug, maybe?

Hard crashed to desktop at Sisyphus. Talked to Bouldy first, then talked to Sisyphus. When I pressed the button to talk to Sisyphus the screen froze and I could hear the voice line in the background briefly before Windows popped up a "not responding" screen. I love this game, and I can't wait for more. But I've encountered some inconsistencies in some of the upgrades you get.
For example, all of the upgrades depicted below state that you get a bonus upon collecting the given item.
But you only get a bonus when the given item is a reward for clearing an "Encounter"
Speaking of "Encounter". In most cases, "Encounter" is clearly defined. But on the current last level of Styx. It plays pretty fast and loose with the term.
Items you buy from The Well of Charon. They will count each and every room cleared as an "Encounter". This means you're item gets burned down pretty quick unless you use the trinket to increase it from 3.
Okay, fair enough.
But then the same doesn't apply to the Pierced Butterfly or Lambent Plume. Items which, based on their description. Should be upgrading every encounter. But they don't, they will only upgrade if you clear the whole thing meeting the conditions.
There are other inconsistencies such as these but these are the most prominent.
Are these bugs or intended design?

Pierced Butterfly and Lambent Plume shouldn't be deactivated if you fail their conditions in Styx mini rooms; they only apply at all to the final encounters
So you don't have to clear the whole thing while meeting their conditions to get the benefits, only the final rooms
Not ticking up in the mini-rooms is as designed for balance reasons
I'm not entirely sure what the status is across all of those contractor boosts and alternative ways to get resources
edit: I think it's intentional that only room rewards / boss rewards are supposed to give contractor boosts; you're welcome to leave feedback in #hades-feedback about the wording there being confusing

does anyone out there have issues with a PDP wired xbox controller not giving rumble?
to clarify: it rumbles once after an attack and then doesn't rumble ever again in game no matter the button press. Rumble works in other games, and my SOs wired xbox controller (a different brand: Easy SMX) works just fine
I never knew using the Y should give rumble or that i should rumble when you fish until my SO said something ^^;

Hey, they wrote to do backup. The saves from beta version are not backward compatible.
BACK UP YOUR SAVE DATA: We strongly advise you to back up your save data before participating in the beta. Do this by creating a copy of your save folder, which should look like
C:\Users\Your Name\Documents\Saved Games\Hades

you need to go to option and switch it back to non-beta on steam.

I don't know what to do but try uninstalling the game and reinstalling it to paste the folder in Documents \ My Games \ Saved Games

well you can recover the game data but only partially I recover from my almost 60 hours of game I lost the progress apart from 30 hours of game

Not that I'm aware of you may need to change your discord mute keybind

Hi! Is there a way to prevent the game to stop when i click outside?? I want to write on Word on one screen while my girlfriend plays on the other. Maybe an option to disable that feature would be cool

I meant, technical support like the game crashes, can't open the game, etc. For suggestions like that, #hades-feedback is the place to do it but, as I said, it's currently being used for the beta. You can still post there, just be mindful that there might be spoilers if you go there.
