Hades is great because it keeps similar themes as a roguelike, reset-status, deck building, progression in the form of lore

I have done it for the pact, as much as I hate the spookiness it is a nice heat bonus. I would never willingly take it as a Chaos Curse in Asphodel unless it gave me something really good for my build or just an objectively good blessing like Grasp.
Also, lava does 1 dmg every hit at base, how did you get it to hurt that badly? Even with 400% trap bonus it still only does 5-6 per so like 20/sec. Did you have the Curse and the Pact active?

Guan Yu really needs to be maxed out.
I once lucked out and got both Hammer mods to upgrade the spin attack.
Even with that I used the Special more often than not, but it was very helpful.
I actually beat that run with just 113 max life.
The more enemies the Spin Attack hits, the better.

I have a deep love for all the Supergiant Games, and when Hades was announced I got very excited bc it was my fav indie studio tackling Greek mythos and not just anything but Hades and the underworld, and as a kid I was obsessed with Greek mythology. And then I play the dang thing and I picked up quickly that this game has LGBTQ+ character in it and it made me so happy. And it's funny that someone mentioned Orpheus "was a girl" as I was writing this, because to me he's a trans man, the second I saw him I was like "oh, this dude is trans". He may not be, but as a trans masc person I vibed him a lot lol.

Honestly I find Elysium enemies much harder than Styx enemies. Not fully sure why so many people struggle with them. Flame Wheels and Greatshields are my least favorite enemies.

the only efficient damage route is the zeus duo boon, and in that case you just get a one knock-back effect and otherwise spec for lightning strikes

If they're the only options available, they aren't bad for a breather.
Ares especially if you pick up his legendary and maybe one or two of the boosters.
Poseidon is fine for a group, but he's tougher to use on a single boss, but it's still free damage you don't have to dodge about for!

So, Weak isn't bad, better with Duo synergy or with Unhealthy Fixation. The main reason to pick her is for damage scaling.
Aphrodite + Artemis for crits will give you some insane damage numbers. Throw in Athena and get all three duos and you will melt everything.
Esp if you use Arthur or Guan Yu.

I usually get poms toward the end from Charon, but I also get some levels from the upgraded nectar. I usually pick Coin or Heart over Pom. Heart cause living is nice and Coin because I run golden touch so having more gold means I get more for having more.
