the fishing bonus boon from poseidon is great in theory, but its bad in practice. No other gods has boons that provide this kind of miscellaneous activity. And poseidon boons also isnt really that good, reasons being boss cant be knockback. so yeah. Just make it a permanent buff when you have max hearts with poseidon instead

Sorry to go off topic, but re: Poseidon being worth it when he isn’t as powerful vs bosses without an extra boon - I don’t think it’s fair to rate him based on boss damage. You fight 4 bosses in the game, but you fight many more normal enemies who Poseidon can maul very effectively.

The final boss isn’t too bad, it has well telegraphed attacks, and if you can devastate all the non-boss enemies before it, you’ll enter in a great position to clear. Is Poseidon my favourite? Oh yeah poseidon's dash and cast make up for his low damage. Cast because he has a duo boon with Demeter that is INSANE. I was doing 1000 to 1500 damage every time I shot it.
Granted it was plenty upgraded and I had a chaos boon so that's not its base, but I'd also been aiming for it the whole run so it wouldn't be that hard to repeat.

I mean, not in my experience. In my experience you don't have to deal with starting out with basically no health, if you're particularly good at dodging getting close isn't a real issue, and you can refill your health in seconds.

For guan yu go for its special, charged skewer and artemis attack and bunch of other stuff can get you to 1k crits pretty easily, spin attacks not advised unless you get the necessary upgrades

Though I must say, one aspect about the game I'd love to see it them adding travel rooms into the game. When Zag enters combat rooms he's always seen traveling up stairs, through gates, or after a long trip on a boat. I think it'd be a breathe of fresh air on runs that you don't have limited time on to see some of the travel between. Maybe run into a few mini-games just to break up the combat a little more.
