@summer loom It's not about the damage it's about the boss straight up attacking you less because they attack more slowly. You can get in twice as many hits because they don't freaking move. Did you pick up the decay status effect? Because that's some insane dps right there if you also have a source of hangover.

Nah. I completed a full run after losing the two previous runs with other weapons. Because things die easier you are less likely to get hit. Got Doom on the attack. It was great. The range on the spin removes the regular spin attacks fatal flaw of leaving you open. It also goes well with their Ares or Athena's boon for the invulnerability period.
It's plainly high risk/high reward the weapon.

Just putting it out there that it still counts as a 'bull rush' so if, say, you took world crusher plus the upgrade that gives it 300% damage if you time the bull rush right it would still count. And, given that the charge up is instant it's always perfectly timed.

I think if there is a noob trap weapon it will be the shield. But yeah every weapon is pretty solid and it just matters your play style. In my group we have a dedicated spear player, shield player, and bow player
I personally go hard on cast builds or play with the bow. Sometimes both with the hera bow

Speaking of which, you may enjoy the rail if you don't have it yet. It's a different kind of ranged build with a lot more rapid fire, but you have to reload.

Well, the hera bow is a casting aspect. What it does is allow you to load all of your casts into one arrow and shoot it.

once you unlock every weapon you can get "aspects" for them which will change their playstyle

And you can fire them all point blank into the enemy at once.
So it's fantastic burst damage.

oh, the extra dash and death defiance are also good

see, i've been having trouble getting it to target what i want. without the duo it ends up hitting a skull/whatever that circle's fodder is, and then shooting air for the bulk of it's cast time while it tries to reorient
