I agree. There's a learning curve that needs to be addressed, when talking about difficulty. It's never as simple as Git Gud, but it's also never as simple as Impossibly Hard. Had a thing happen that I'm not sure if is a bug: When the second flashback sequence became available (dialog about needing to rest), I skipped it. I did a couple more regular runs, and then shut the game off for the night.
When I came back, the ability to rest was gone, and it has never come back again. I've done a lot of runs since then (maybe 80) and as far as I can tell have never had the opportunity again.
Anyone else experience this? Or, are the flashback sequences just really really far apart?

make a shortcut to hades, then add that to steam as a custom thing, then you won't need to worry about having to re-do the process

because, while steam is rather decent atm, they might change how it works, like anoying popups etc.. and epic is rather untested atm (and even if it had been tested nothing says it wont change for the worse)

Just because it hasnt happened to any of the games I have played (though I have played starwars battlefront & assassins creed oddesey, but they were trying to get you to spend cash from day 1, so it wont count), the reason (or one of em) why I want to buy only drm free games is to be sure there wont be any changes that make it worse for me down the line.

@warm lily The game is DRM free. You can play it without the epic launcher. I don't know if the game will stay installed if you uninstall the Epic launcher. The desktop shortcut links through the Epic launcher but the game files are readily accessible and you can easily make a custom shortcut to the game's .exe and play it without the Epic launcher involved at all.

But other than that the launcher is unnecessary and can be closed out entirely while the game is running

i dont really think supergiant does like an itch.io deal where you just download the game and that's done. you need an outside launcher for pretty much any bigger game that's not self publishing, and definitely need that for patches
like i get why you wouldnt trust the outside companies with their launchers
but thats unfortunately the reality we have to deal with xD
even discord is a game launcher now and that is what i'm afraid of

@dull mesa as a response to your feedback you just posted: Aphrodite is great to have no matter what build you are running in my opinion. If you run an attack build, you can upgrade your cast/special to consistantly keep your enemies, especially bosses weak and reducing incoming damage by 50% (!) without sacrificing too much of your dps
however, I do agree with you that a build that relies on her boons feels kinda underwhelming, the same can be said for her legendary which i have found very difficult to rely upon

The issue with Aphro was that she was so OP in the past, but after the nerf it's left her a bit disappointing

The increased damage on weak enemies and weak explosion when you kill an enemy is cool though imo

@supple cloud Maybe I haven't picked her enough to see her power, but I don't know It just didn't feel great picking her. For example when you pick the Zeus upgrade for your dash it feels amazing and when you pick any of the Aphrodite's boon it's like "meh".

like i said, i find aphrodite's boons great to round off a build but not that good as a main focus
