until civ6 and their expansions, civilization equated civilization with exploitation, wars (expansion and extermination) and exploration for sake of the previous 3x

but endless legend starts with a higher focus of exploration for sake of a sense of wonder

even in civ6, barbarians spawn where you cannot see, but in endless legend, their equivalent spawn until you pacific their villages by either completing a quest, giving them money or destroy them and then rebuilt them

#

so the option of peace is more favoured, and the exploration, with the great number of ruins and ruins in water tiles and the upgrade that allows you to re-explore ruins... it was like reliving the best parts of Warlords I and II

Late response, but a lot of the "point" of Cultist Simulator is... figuring out how to play it.

#

You use trial & error / experimentation to learn what your resources are, how to best use them, etc. There's even several elements in the game that give you some degree of guidance about what to do or how to use what you're given.

#

You can look up a guide, but if you were to follow one, the average player could easily complete the whole thing in just a handful of hours.

#

So, basically... If you can read and employ comprehension skills, you should be able to play that game.
