So, story time:
I live in Portland, OR, an area typically known for being temperate year round. Rarely get snows and stuff. One year, we had a "Snowpocalypse" (I think this was specifically the one in like 2012). Just a sudden blizzard and massive snow, was pretty crazy. So, my dad always has had humming bird feeders up. He loves em. So during this blizzard, a hummingbird was trying to get feed from his feeder, and failing, because it had frozen.
So dad got out one of his growlamps and built a little box around the feeder, put some easter grass in the bottom of the box, and kept that little hummer alive. At one point my brother got it to stand on his hand and let him pet it. It was pretty epic.

Syd, have you tried FireAlpaca or Medibang Paint?
They’re super lightweight freeware programs that should run well on any computer. Made for drawing and not image editing so you’ll find them more in tune with the tools you’re likely to use

Clip is great, if you like the brush variety then you’ll love it
Krita might also be a good fit for you, more freeware but closer to PS in its functioning
(I will say as a note, you can import ps custom brushes into fire alpaca too haha)
