@wide ember I agree, 10 hour days at the -very- most, even though I've worked plenty of 12 hour/day jobs. But the burnout on that level is REAL, and without both adequate compensation and paid recoup time, it's nothing short of abuse. And I don't care what employer says "voluntary" working extra is never voluntary, in any industry.

I think if you say "We need a few people to volunteer to pick up some overtime to finish this project, speak with management to coordinate" that may be true, but when you say, "We're now entering crunch, and expect people to work 12 hour days, 6 days a week. This is voluntary. You have every right now to participate." there's still a looming expectation of "being a team player" and things like that.
Back in my late 20's I was an assistant manager at a restaurant, and I was scheduled for 52 hours, expected to work 60, and realistically worked far more, because I was constantly being called in when something broke down.

No overtime. And I don't know about trusted so much as exploited. When the general manager quit, the owners hired from outside the store and made me train my own replacement.
When I confronted them on it they said, "Well, you never applied", which I had tried to broach the subject multiple times but they always got dodgy when I did.
Mind you, that restaurant was a 24 hour place on a college campus surrounded by bars, but went under about 5 years after I left. 😛

Well, the issue has more to do with mentor being a title given to players based on a criteria of minimum playtimes and dungeon runs. It's more of an achievement than anything, but calling it "mentor" and giving them a crown creates 2 different expectations.

and as for the third eye itself i think it’s a pretty neat character design feature and it kinda helps compensate for the garleans not being able to use magic like literally everyone else on the planet can
