Homecoming ganked huge chunks of Miles's backstory (it even gave us Aaron, but no Miles? come on!), and, yeah, it was the reason the Spiderverse crew had to cut ... essentially Ganke's entire character

Aaron does mention that he has a nephew that lives in the area when he gets interrogated by Peter, and in a deleted scene he calls Miles and tells him he's going to be late

Well, dystopian fiction is pretty common and the authors of such works often exaggerate a component of their society to take it to it's logical conclusion but that doesn't mean that's how said society works. Often it's just the worst possible outcome.

LoTRO has pvp in a sense, although it isn't populated
one side is the Free Peoples (your regular characters) and the other is Monsters (special pvp-only characters, most of which you need to buy with lotro points or be VIP) and you fight over forts and stuff

They actually had melee fixed in Black Ops 4 before launch.

No lock-on, pitiful hitbox, and it did roughly chip damage.

Then they reverted it to MW2 Commando that did 145 damage, compared to the base health of 150 of a given player.

Spray and pray in close quarters, then press melee for your guaranteed kill.
