i feel like qa work takes a certain kind of person to begin with, and then on top of it the industry Sucks, broadly speaking, and all the issues that programmers and engineers have with crunch etc. tend to get doubled or tripled down on qa testers, on top of bad pay

#

so like you're just as disposable based on the dev cycle and when you're needed vs when you're not but just like with every other games job there's no union protections, no guarantee of further work, the crunch is real and brutal, you don't get paid nearly enough, and, i don't speak from experience, but i get the sense there's a view of qa work as being the bottom rung of the dev ladder so there's that hanging over your head

connections are a thing but if you're working for a sweatshop contractor who lends you out by the hundreds to EA or whatever that's not gonna get you anywhere

what i’ve noticed is that it’s becoming more common for companies to want qa people who want to stay in qa. i know qa is often a common starting point for people trying to break into production specifically as well. but there are still ways to get in without using qa to transition, and there are also definitely people who do qa because they like it.

Went back today to either resolve the issue or refund. Couldn't do either. They suggested contacting Chucklefish regarding the situation.

Well... Nier Automata Yorha is actually a Nier Automata + DLC and well... And on PC it has same optimization issues xD

And somehow FF XIV works well on PC xD

Because PC ports of Square Enix's game are usually bad (I know that Nier was made by Platinium Games), but there are other screwed ports on PC (I.E. some Final Fantasies or Chrono Trigger ported from mobile)
