the short story is about a Planet Of Women where all the men were wiped out by a ~virus~ early on, but they've continued the population w/ cloning technology and just. kept trucking. and it's fine. it's been like a couple centuries, contact was lost in the whole plague business, but they're doing fine
and some male astronauts arrive on the planet. and they're like :OOO you've never seen ... a man before ... ohohohoh
and it's from the POV of a woman, who is married to a woman, who has a daughter, who has never seen a man before, seeing how these men look at her and her wife and her daughter like. like they think they're the protagonists of a "only man in a world of women" novel, and her fear & disgust

my chicken pit thing was that both male and female pilots and orbital frames from that kojima game have AI in the chicken pit, the insecure protag from the 2nd game was being insecure for being dependent on his mecha due to vital organ damages so he tried to compensate by shaming the girl who saved his life that she can't do anything without help and fans had been shaming the girl character for cannot piloting without an AI... even though they all pilot with an AI aid...
and it was really a case of fans being dumb honestly
