XIV's PvP is actually kind of fun because you can get into playable mechs during the fights.
but that's for one mode.
XIV has regular PvP and something with Crystals akin to Dissidia NT, but on a much bigger scale to fit the MMO.
It's more like the Lord of Vermillion mini-game from the Golden Saucer I think.
I don't remember.
Didn't really get the chance to do much with PvP in XIV outside of one or two matches.

I've always hated PvP in 14 and every time they make updates or changes, I'm unimpressed. I see it solely as a punishment I'm forced to endure for a period of time when there's additional glamour I desire and that's it.
I've actually had friends pay me money to log into their accounts and grind wolf marks for them because we all hate it that much.

In GW2, I very rarely saw bots in PvP. And it was fun to see what different builds you could utterly wreck somebody with. Traversing certain maps was also the right blend of strategy and sheer ridiculousness. (They induce what I call "fun frustration".)

As for the communities, to me... they're MMOs. Who and what you meet isn't determined by the game or the server, in my experience. It's your luck and who you choose to surround yourself with.
